Banania[edit]

Tiny speed demons but bananas. Based on The Bananians and Bananafolk

Physical Description[edit]

History[edit]

Banania are amazingly sentient and completely mobile bananas. Human-like limbs protrude from their banana bodies. Banania do not have perceptible faces. However, this seems to not matter to them as they can still communicate and see without issues. It is believed they do have some ocular organ at their "front," which is probably why they can still be affected by blindness. They use the stem at the top of their head to receive vibrations and pheromones from other banania. Their "underskin," or flesh beneath their peel, resembles a regular banana. If people killed one, they could eat it and receive all the usual benefits as if they ate a typical banana.

When bananians are born, they are green and turn yellow as they mature. They can use their peels as weapons by throwing them in front of their enemies when needed. The peels are incredibly slippery, and the banania peel can be regrown after being thrown.

They came into being when a god accidentally threw his magic banana on a Quasit.

Society[edit]

Few know what happens on the Bananian Islands, though people fear going near them for fear of being turned into banania. In reality, banania live peaceful lives and often gather for celebrations. They firmly trust one another and often share their possessions with other banania in a coordinated fashion. Banania also know how to forage for food and have many island community farms. While they are classified as herbs, banania can consume meat but prefer plant matter. They have also created their own banana language, "Banania," named after the islands. This language can only be spoken by banania, as it uses the unique pheromones emitted and received by Banania stems.

Banania Traits[edit]

Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by 2 and your Constitution increases by 1.
Age. Banania don't age like normal creatures, but they are speculated to live between 30 and 40 years and "ripen" (reach adulthood) in their 12th year of life.
Alignment. Chaotic all the way with these bananas. They love to just do their own thing.
Size. As they are bananas, they tend to be sort of short. Your size is Tiny.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 40 feet + dex mod x2.
Natural Dancer. You are proficient in the Performance skill. Whenever you make a Charisma (Performance) check related to dancing, you add double your proficiency bonus to the check, instead of your normal proficiency bonus.
Peel Slip. If a creature you can see within 15 feet of you moves more than 10 feet, regardless of direction, you can use your reaction to throw your skin peel at them. They must attempt a Dexterity saving throw (DC = 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus) or fall prone and take 1d2 (1d4 halved rounded down) damage.
IMA BANANA. As an action, you can start dancing and shout "IMA BANANA" Any creature that can see you must make a Charisma saving throw (DC = 8 + your Charisma modifier + your proficiency bonus) or start dancing uncontrollably themselves, as if they were under the effects of the irresistible dance spell. You can continue dancing on each of your turns to maintain this effect, as if concentrating on a spell.
Tiny Strength. Normally you have disadvantage on all strength related checks and saving throws minus ones you have proficiency in, in which case those proficiencies are removed (though can still dual wield weapons without the light feature, but not heavy weapons), but you can use the rage ability (but all of its effects are doubled) for 24 seconds (4 rounds), 36 seconds if you picked barbarian as class. (check barbarian rage for amount you can use it and rage damage, remember the rage damage is doubled)
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common. You also always know how to say "ima banana" in any language.
