Sinister Sleepwalking[edit]

You know that feeling you get when you realise you have sleepwalking issues? How about having sleepwalking, controlled by other people who put it there? Originated from the Cult of the Lidless Eye, this curse is a cult favorite of the Cult(pun intended). Until about severity 4, it seems like simple sleepwalking/talking. At severity 8 or higher, it is incurable, without wish. At severity 10, it becomes contagious. At anytime, the curse can be lifted by the curse creator, or the one who cursed the victim. The severity generally increases every week, except for severity 4 and 8. Keep in mind. The victim has no knowledge of what is happening until severity 9. So solo adventurers beware.

Severity 1: The victim mutters parts of what the controller wants the victim to say, or occasionally yell a word or phrase. Occurs immediately after curse, although some(with constitution of 17 or higher) have it happen the next week only.

Severity 2: The victim talks aloud parts of what the controller wants the victim to say, all the while muttering what the controller wants the victim wants to say.

Severity 3: The victim often sits up straight and talks aloud what the controller wants the victim to say.

Severity 4: The victim occasionally will stand up and stagger in a random direction 5ft. Severity 3 occurs as well. Duration: 3 weeks Until here, remove curse is effective. Afterwards, it requires a remove curse of one higher level for every level of severity.

Severity 5: The victim occasionally will throw punches at a "nonexistent" target, often yelling at the "nonexistent" target. When this occurs, the victim may attack nearby(within 10ft.) creatures or allies without warning, even if the target is actually invisible by magic or other means. When there is no target within 10ft., or if the victim has Constitution 16, the victim will throw punches at random areas, as if fighting an invisible enemy.

Severity 6: The victim will fight the "nonexistent" target with any and all weapons near the victim as if without proficiency. If not, the target's unarmed strikes are considered 1d6 damage. This may not happen if the controller commands the victim so. At this point, when asleep, the victim's eyes can be used by the controller to see, as if with blindsight or tremorsense, at 5ft.(Controller can choose either, not both. Controller is allowed to change every night) The victim can, through the controller, perform any task with difficulty 10 or lower.

Severity 7: The victim will aggressively attack the nearest creature(within 15ft.) or sneak up on the nearest creature(within 10ft.) and attack with normally proficient weapons as if without proficiency, and weapon without proficiency and spells with half damage. At this point, when asleep, the victim's eyes can be used by the controller to see, as if with blindsight or tremorsense, at 10ft.(Controller can use either, not both. Controller can change vision at any time) The victim can, through the controller, perform any task with difficulty 15 or lower.

Severity 8: The victim will act as if awake, following the controller's orders without any fighting back, using the nearest weapon with proficiency. The controller may also tell the target to perform any task that the victim can normally do. The additional senses are the same as the previous severity. Duration: 3 weeks 2 days At this point, the victim can only be cured with wish. Using remove curse alerts the controller.

Severity 9: The victim is completely aware of the controller's influence, and cannot "wake up" from this "dream", seeing everything the controller allows. The controller has access to the victim's memory as well. Depending on the controller's Charisma(requires 18 or higher), the victim may act as if normal. The controller may also use blindsight 15ft. or tremorsense 15ft.(or both) to see through the victim's eyes(or sense). Using remove curse will mark the user by the controller and, without Charisma 18 or higher on the controller's part, the victim will become aggressive to the user and, sometimes violent. The victim, in addition to the normal weapons and spells, can use the controller's spells that are at the victim's level or lower.

Severity 10: As well as the complete awareness of the external influence, access to memory from controller, additional senses, etc, the controller can spread the curse, through bodily contact, contact with the victim's bodily fluids or through another person using remove curse. Spreading the curse will start the next victim at severity 1, with input from the same controller. The victim also gains proficiency with whatever weapon the controller is proficient with, spells that the controller can use, and skills the controller has, except for Strength and Dexterity related skills.

Total time: 14 weeks 2 days, or 100 days.
