Atlantean

One day, the children who grew knowing the legend of Atlantis may see the rising of the mighty kingdom they thought was lost.

Atlanteans are strong, versatile warriors of the seas, acclimated to the oceans and survival underwater. Your ingenuity makes the most of all situations with innate magical capabilities and clever minds. The atleanteans are one of the most advanced in terms of magic than most races. The strongest of their kind have their own hand made spells which they honed as they special edge in battle. They can exclusive spells unknown to other races as they are quite secretive of their abilities and means of creating such strong means of altering nature.

Physical Description

The atlanteans are similar to humans in appearance. The skin of an atlantean tends to be slippery, and glint slightly in sunlight. These oily secretions help them swim more effectively, and protect them from temperature changes between land and water. Atlantean hair tends to be black or white, and their eyes are almost always blue and green hues, light blue being the rarest coloration. They are typically very muscular individuals, and typically do not have beard, but those who choose to may still do so, even though it is not common among them. Even though rare, large beard in atlantean society represent leadership and power, as well as great respect.

History

Atlanteans have always been extremely proud fishermen and fearsome warriors. Although their capital city is Atlantis, there have been hundreds of settlements built on coastal cities around the world, some above water, some under water. For years, their cities made them targets for the sahuagin, deadly seas creatures whom also hunt the seas. These sahuagin and the atlanteans waged war on each other for years, until the sahuagin, according to legend, sunk the city of Atlantis. ever since then, the other cities of atlanteans have never been found, and the atlantean people were thought to be extinct.

The truth, however, is that the atlanteans retreated into the seas, fighting the sahuagin full force, cutting their numbers down to a fraction, but those years of war underwater led the common folk of the land to believe Atlantis had disappeared into the sea. Since the commoners and other races of the land would actively hunt in the water, the atlanteans chose to secretly protect the oceans without waging a war on the land-folk.

Society

Most atlanteans never leave the area where they were born, preferring to remain close to their families. Because of these close bonds, the atlanteans are fiercely protective of the ocean environment, and of their communities. Proud warriors of the oceans, the atlanteans will often fiercely fight to protect the waters from corruption, war, and death. Atlantean men are raised as warriors, and atlantean women are trained as warriors, but taught to be diplomats and rulers, although the primary ruler is always a king. Women generally determine the roles of other atlanteans in society, and organize what atlanteans are in what groups.
