Void Stalker[edit]
“We were like you once, you know. Perfect, pail skin. Long blond hair. Just like any other elf. All we ever wanted was freedom, and instead we became monsters” -Eudakai Ashgeniir, The First Void Stalker
Void Stalkers are a race of elves, banished to the Shadowfell. After decades, and even centuries imprisoned, they evolved into the forms that they have now. Since then they have lost most of the similarities they shared with their elven ancestors. Recently however, many have escaped to the material plane, though many still remain in the Shadowfell
A Body of Shadows[edit]
If you took a Void Stalker and squinted a bit, you might be able to mistake it for an elf. They are, after all, almost completely identical in shape. However, that’s about the extent of their similarities. Heavily altered by the realm the reside in, Void Walkers have traded their flesh and blood for a body almost completely composed of an amorphous shadow. The exemption being their bright eyes and pearly whites. Although they still always resemble their elvish ancestors, the body of a Void Stalker is almost always shifting, weather voluntarily or not. All Void Stalkers have a degree control over this shifting, and often use it to both express thier emotions, and alter thier appearance.
Banished And Betrayed[edit]
Long ago, the Elves that eventually became The Void Stalkers resides in a kingdom ruled over by a Elven King, whose name has been long forgotten. The king was corrupt, and ruled with an iron fist, but for the most part, his kingdom tolerated it. Their patience was pushed however, when the king issued a decree to destroy the forest surrounding them, betraying his own race entirely. In response to this, a revolution was started, in an attempt to overthrow the king. Much of the kingdom joined the revolt but at the last second, out of fear of the crown, betrayed thier cause and granted victory to the king. As punishment for the simple act of thinking of treason, the king immediately executed the Elves who didn’t go through with it. But for those who fought to the end, he had a much worse punishment. They and their family were all banished to the Shadowfell, where most of them stayed for the rest of thier lives.
