Scythe Master[edit]

Wielding the same type of weapon as the grim reaper does scares the common folk who are quick to spread rumors of your activities, are they true?

Whatever your destiny is you wield a notorious weapon, will you follow the precedent it has set?

Class Summary[edit]

The Scythe Master class is a fighter like combatant who either wields a giant two handed scythe or two smaller one handed scythes. Great crowd control or interesting ways to maintain good damage output.

Special Scythe Weapon[edit]

At first level you choose between a two handed scythe weapon (1d12) or two one handed scythes (2d6). You cannot change after choosing which version you pick.

If you land a critical hit with your scythe weapon you can attack again. This can be done once per short rest. At 6th level you can use this feature twice per short rest, and at 12th level you can use this feature three times per short rest.

Heavy Strike/Rapid Swing[edit]

Heavy Strike (two handed scythe) - To use this feature target one creature with your bonus action. If you land a weapon attack (with the scythe) on the same turn and it hits the creature, that creature must make a dexterity saving throw (DC 15) or be pushed backwards or sideways (by choice of the player) 15 ft. If the creature is forced into another creature or solid object (ex: a wall) each creature involved takes 1d8 force damage. If the heavy strike kills the target the damage carries onto another creature within 5ft of the first enemy struck. This ability increases by 1d8 at 7th, 11th, and 15th level.

Rapid Swings (two one handed scythes) - To use this feature you must be holding both scythes. You dash 15 ft in a straight line. You can move through other creatures squares but can not occupy another creatures square at the end of this dash. All creatures that you move through must make a dexterity saving throw DC 15. On a failed save creatures take 2d8 + your dexterity modifier damage, or half as much for creatures who made a successful save. This ability increases by 1d8 at 6th, 10th, and 14th level.

Scythe Mastery I[edit]

Ability Score Increase[edit]

When you reach 4th level and again at 8th, 12th, and 16th level you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2 or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.
