Physical Description[edit]

Alligators are depicted as similar in appearance to crocodiles.

Alligator Traits[edit]

Alligators are predatory creatures that use the water to drag their prey in.
Ability Score Increase. Your Strength and Constitution scores both increase by 2.
Age. Alligators can age to approximately 50-60 years old.
Alignment. They are usually neutral.
Size. Alligators don't vary much widely in height. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet. 40 for swimming.
Cold Blooded. Your cold blooded body gives you the ability to go longer without food. You only need to eat once a week.
Swap Resilience. The anatomy of the alligator gives them a strong resilience to foreign substances. They have advantage against being poisoned and not getting diseased. They also have resistance to poison damage.
Primal Mind. Alligators have harden their minds to face nature. You have advantage on saving throws against being frightened.
Grappling Bite. An Alligator's main weapon is their powerful jaw. You can bite a target for 1d12 + your strength modifier piercing damage and choose to grapple them as well if they fail a saving throw of 8 + your strength modifier (minimum + 1) + proficiency bonus. Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained & grappled, and the you can't bite another target.
Hold Breath. Alligator due to being aquatic are able to dive deep into water for considerable times before surfacing back for air. You can hold your breath for 15 minutes.
Keen Smell. Alligators are able to track their prey with this strong sense of smell. You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.
Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Underwater Stealth. You have advantage on stealth checks if your underwater.
Natural Armor. You have some considerable bone like scales. When you aren't wearing armor, your AC is 13 + your Dexterity modifier. You can use your natural armor to determine your AC if the armor you wear would leave you with a lower AC. A shield's benefits apply as normal while you use your natural armor.
Death Roll. You can twist your bite for horrific results. When you are grappling a target with your grappling bite you can make a contested strength roll with your target and on your success you do 2d12 + 1 + your strength modifier piercing damage ripping a piece of the target off as it becomes unrestrained and no longer grappled.
Languages. You can speak Alligator (Optional:You can understand Common but not write or speak it).
