Unjointed A monk stands there, beated and broken from the fight. They loosen the cloth on their elbows to reveal that the have none at all. Their hands float in the air and fly around the battle field like a swarm of insects and dismembering everythingin their path.

Physical Description[edit]

Unjointed are a people of no joints. The tend to be somewhat taller than the average human. They have gray-ish purple skin, silvery hair, and glowing white eyes. As an Unjointed ages, ore of their joints decay until their neck decays and the suffocate and die. Unjointed's limbs are connected by a semi-transparent tether that varies in appearance depending on the Unjointed but is most commonly a chain of some kind.

History[edit]

Unjointed are born of a pureblood dark elf being resurrected by aberration magic not of necromancy. The user implants an egg into their corpse, as the egg is the conduit for the magic. This egg sappy the life energy from the resurrected corpse until it hatches an Unjointed. The inhabitants of the far realm have done this practice for centuries in secret and some Unjointed have even indulged in these practices from time to time as well. Xonn Xivver and his enclave are the oldest enclave in the entire plane. Xonn himself is a little over 700 years old, he has accomplished this by creating artificial joints and has found out that after 200 Unjointed don't age. The reason others have not tried this is because none have been able to, artificial joints is Xonn's closest guarded secret.

Society[edit]

Unjointed tend to form enclaves at the edges of the far realm, usually around burial sites. They are fiercly protective of their loved ones and it isn't uncommon to find other races in their enclaves. They believe that death is the only way to progress further in life. Death is sacred to them.

Unjointed Names[edit]

Unjointed first names tend to be four letters long, males consisting of three consonants and one vowel with the last consonant repeating, and females consist of two vowels and two consonants with the first vowel repeating. Last names tend to be six letters long, males consist of four consonants and two vowels with the second consonant being repeated, and females consist of three consonants and three vowels with the first vowel being repeated.

Male: Dull Derran, Kann Kirruk, Jikk Jorrev

Female: Roov Raaten, Kiin Keevat, Teex Teenat

<Race Name> Traits[edit]

Ability Score Increase. Your Wisdom score increases by 2 and your Dexterity score increases by 1.
Age. Unjointed reach maturity at around 14 years and typically grow to be 200, 300 if they are lucky. As an Unjointed ages, more of their joints disintegrate until it reaches their neck and they die.
Alignment. Unjointed are typically neutral until they encounter an aberration, they tend to attack on first sight, but there are very few who don't hold that kind of resentment toward aberrations.
Size. Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Blightvision. A strange sort of vision that is somewhat unique to the Unjointed. Colors are reversed, blacks are white and whites are black. You can see in what most consider the dark up up to 60 ft, but you can't see color, only shades of white.
The Tether. The Tether is the magic that keeps you somewhat together, its how you move without knees and how you can wield weapons with no shoulders or elbows, and only another Unjointed or one with detect magic of some kind or a barer of truesight can see your tether. Using your tether, you can reach up to a 10 ft sphere around you. Once your limb leave that sphere, it falls to the ground, still under your control but is unable to float again until a long rest. If your tether is disrupted by any means, you cannot move that limb for 24 hours.
Jointless. Without elbows and shoulders,there is no need for strength. Your strength is replaced by your wisdom modifier but you automatically fail when you make a Dexterity(Acrobatics) or Strength(Athletics) check to lift yourself up. Your forearms can carry 10× your wisdom modifier per arm.
Fey Ancestry. You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed and magic can’t put you to sleep.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Elvish.
