The Akian[edit]

This text is a place holder

This is a work in progress class only because I want to make sure it's balanced before fully releasing it and I'm fairly sure parts of it wont be so feedback is appreciated!

Creating a Akian[edit]

Each Akian channels their abilities in their own way. First, Constitution should be your highest ability score since most of your abilities involve Con in some way. Next your second highest state will likely be Wisdom but based on your Archetype it could change. This section will become more specific as the class is improved and balanced.


Class Features

As a Akian you gain the following class features.

Hit Points

Hit Dice: 1d8 per Akian level
Hit Points at 1st Level: 8 + Constitution modifier
Hit Points at Higher Levels: 1d8 (or 5) + Constitution modifier per Akian level after 1st

Proficiencies

Armor: Light
Weapons: Simple and Martial
Tools: None
Saving Throws: Constitution and Wisdom
Skills: Pick 4; Religion, Stealth, Perception, Intimidation, deception, acrobatics, athletics, slight of hand, Insight, Investigation persuasion

Equipment

You start with the following equipment, in addition to the equipment granted by your background:

  • Simple Weapon
  • (a) Dart x10 or (b) Simple Weapon
  • Leather Armour, two daggers
  • (a) Explores Pack or (b) Dungeoneers pack or (c) Priests pack

Rotten Body[edit]

At 1st level magic and potions that heal your Hit points no longer work on you.

Life Steal[edit]

At 1st level you take the very life force of your foes to be used as your own. When you do melee damage to a creature add (Con mod + half your proficiency round down) to your Energy Pool, however the Energy your steal cannot be greater then the damage you dealt. -Energy Pool: Your max energy is equal to (Con score + Wis score + level)

Self Heal[edit]

Starting at 1st level as an Action you may use Energy from your Energy Pool to heal. The max you can heal per turn is equal to (level + Con Score). This feature can be used as many times as you want outside of combat.

Leftovers[edit]

At 2nd level you may extract life force from corpse from creatures who have died within 1 minute to your Energy Pool. This does not work on undead or constructions and is equal to your (Wis mod + level) this processes takes 1 minute to perform.

Tools of Crakk[edit]

Each one of the Akians channel Crakk's powers in different ways through different trinkets gifted to the by their god. When choosing an archetype also think of a gift the you could receive from Crakk, this is just for flavor. This gift can be anything form a piece of clothing to a weapon or even a physical change like a tattoo or a scar.

Ability Score Increase[edit]

When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.

Time Dash[edit]

At 5th level as a bonus action you can move 5ft at extreme speed. To those around you it looks instantaneous but in reality you are moving this isn't a teleport so terrain and ability checks still effect you but you move to fast for enemies to make reactions on you. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your wisdom modifier. The charges rest after finishing a long rest.

Timeless Movement[edit]

At 5th level as an action you can spend energy from your Energy Pool to add extra movement on your turn. 5 points = 5ft but for gameplay purposes you can only use this ability in increments of 5ft.

At 10th level your movement increases by 10ft.

At 15th level you can spend 10 energy to caste the Haste spell on yourself with no components needed and instead of the normal duration you must spend 5 Energy at the end of you turn to maintain the spell, you must also spend 5 Energy if you take damage. If you can’t provide the Energy the spell ends or you can choose to dispel it.

Stasis[edit]

At 6th level if you drop to 0 hit points and aren’t instantly killed you can spend 25 energy on your turn to roll 1 of hit dice (if you have any) and heal that much HP. You are also immune to all none magical attacks until your next turn.

Akian Archetypes[edit]

Shadow of Crakk[edit]

The Shadow of Crakk uses the shadows and darkness around him to his advantage. The Shadow’s gift from Crakk would be something like a Dagger, a clock or a mask or something similar.

Level 3

-You gain proficiency with one tool of your choice: Thieves tools, Poisoner's tools, Disguise Tools

-You gain proficiency with Medium Armour

Darkvision

You have darkvision up to 120ft

Sneak Attack

You gain the rouge feature Sneak Attack and it works the same way it does in the Player's Handbook except it starts at a 1d6 and increases to 2d6 at lvl8, 3d6 lvl12, 4d6 lvl16, 5d6 lvl20

Negative energy

When preforming a sneak attack you may Channel negative energy from your Energy Pool into your enemy. The maximum amount is equal to you (Wis mod + lvl) necrotic damage.

Level 9
Energy of Darkness

Any ability involving your energy pool is doubled will in darkness. Example: Your Energy pool is doubled both your Max amount of energy and your current energy, your self heal, leftovers ability and your Negative Energy.

Level 13
Dark Dash

Will in darkness you can use this upgraded version of time dash. It works the same way but you can use your full movement.

Level 17
Crakk's Shadow

Once per week and only will in darkness you can transform yourself into the embodiment of Crakk’s shadow. You may use your full turn to transform yourself into a Wraith however you keep using your normal HP, You have access to all your abilities, you creature Shadows instead of Specters when using the Wraiths Create Specter ability and light of any kind changes you back to your normal form.
