Talk:Sliver (5e Race)

Jump to: navigation, search

That's what Sliver Mind is for. It allows other sliver to access the spells, abilities, proficiency modifier, proficiencies, armor class, and feats and class features(even if the other slivers lack the prerequisites on their own). For example, a sliver Wizard with Int of 20 gives all other slivers within 600 Ft an Int of 20 and access to all of his spells(with their own spell slots), and if a Fighter is within 600 ft all Slivers in the Radius can use Second Wind, Action Surge, can use his spells or maneuvers, and other Class Features and have their own superiority dice and spell slots based on the Sliver they Originate from. If multiple Slivers have said abilities, Superiority Dice and Spell slots will stack, skill modifiers will not, the highest one will take effect for balancing purposes to prevent players from having equivalents of 30+ Ability Scores

i did some balance changes before but it seems some one undid all the work i did lol its a shame I did alot of work on it, as it is atm it seems really overpowered they share abilities from classes which i thinks op, they have a really op armor ability they have dark vision and can take a bonus feat it seems this races was made to min max alot of things, i made subtypes so instead of sharing class abilities they could share substype abilities so when more then one person is playing a sliver they could share subtypes and make it fun.--Vladmere.Labefactum (talk) 23:55, 6 April 2016 (MDT)

I'm not sure I like how close they are to the PHB human variant. The ability score versatility and bonus feat is their "thing". This sliver takes that and then adds a bunch of of additional features, so it's overpowered too. Marasmusine (talk) 00:30, 7 April 2016 (MDT)

i have a plan that might make it balanced and make people to want to play as a party of slivers. I'll update it alittle later and you can tell me what you think. --Vladmere.Labefactum (talk) 04:37, 7 April 2016 (MDT)
Hey Maramusine, I have made some changes to it, I was wondering what you think. hopefully this balances them out a little bit more.--Vladmere.Labefactum (talk) 07:21, 7 April 2016 (MDT)

You have asked for me to stop editing this page and I shall respect your wishes and stop. Do you mind if i make a variant version of this race on the wiki using the stuff I added?--Vladmere.Labefactum (talk) 21:53, 7 April 2016 (MDT)

Well, that user asked in the worst possible way and has received a warning. I have reverted the page to the revision before your changes. The page does need improving and you should not be discouraged from doing so. Perhaps for now propose your changes here on the talk page first. Marasmusine (talk) 00:35, 8 April 2016 (MDT)
ok, well I added subraces because I felt like the original was overwhelmingly overpowered and i really like the look of this race and the potential it has. I feel that if there is subraces people can pick an essentially gain bonus from each other playing different types of slivers while not breaking the game.--Vladmere.Labefactum (talk) 02:52, 8 April 2016 (MDT)

So, it seems that he/she has no intention of discussion about this race... so can i edit it or should I wait alittle longer first?--Vladmere.Labefactum (talk) 21:28, 12 April 2016 (MDT)

This was a race I was hoping to build myself. I had plans for it and the orignal template was really just a place help me remember some of my ideas. I was planing on making subraces I just hadn't had the chance to yet. I don't always have a lot of time. I'm really sorry for my behavior. There was stuff going on in my my personal life, and I was letting it get to me. Feel free to make a variant race, and make a new sliver race page and just call this one the variant. You have a lot more experience making races than I do, and I was really only making this race for my own personal use; just felt like sharing my ideas. --Drasimor (talk) 15:19, 18 April 2016 (MDT)

Fair enough, we all have bad days. I don't have that much experience making races I'm still learning myself to do balance and such, so seeing cool ideas like this one was interesting to think of ways to make them interact etc. So I will leave this race for you to fiddle with. Sorry for the big hassle lol hope things go better for you soon :)--Vladmere.Labefactum (talk) 00:07, 22 April 2016 (MDT)
