Syl (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Weapon (GreatScythe), Legendary (Requires Intelligence 18 or higher)
A large +3 greatscythe with a blade made of blackened adamant with 8 holes along the blade and a handle of blackened adamant fashioned like bones. The handle is etched with deep jagged lines all the way up. The lines appear to writhe along the handle, and something seems to move beneath the surface of the blade.
Has Reach, Versatile (2d10), Finesse, Special.
Syl deals 4d8 necrotic damage, and crits on a roll of 19-20. On a critical hit the target must roll a d20 (no modifiers), and on an 8 or lower they are inflicted with long-term madness (As on pg 259 of DM's Guide).
Sentience. Syl is Chaotic Neutral; Intelligence 20(+5), Wisdom 10 (+0), and Charisma 8 (-1). She has blindsight and hearing up to 30 ft. She speaks deep speech, and can communicate telepathically with her wielder and anyone she critically hits.
Personality. Syl was a drow, and an actual child of Lolth, making her a demigod. She was slowly driven mad by the darkness in her mind, and she went on a murder spree with her favorite scythe. After murdering half of the drow city she lived in she was slain by a male. The matriarchs were so outraged by this that they brought her soul back and placed it into a new scythe. They forced the man who killed her to wield this scythe against his own family and there she had rested for 8 years, until Lolth had her sent up in a raiding party.
