Swarmling[edit]

Swarmlings are the base of the sliver's, you guessed it, swarm. Why play a swarmling over say a soldier? It takes a long time to make a soldier. A swarmling can easily be spawned.

Making a Swarmling[edit]

Swarmlings tend to be good when nearby lots of allies. While the allies may not benefit from this it will. Good synergies come from other melee characters.

Abilities: The martial attributes are the most important for this class.

Races: Only slivers can be this class. Unless of course there is another swarm species.

Alignment: Any alignment is acceptable.

Starting Gold: 0 because that is for things the slivers do not need.

Starting Age: Young.

Class Features[edit]

The swarmlings features are based on allies and their location to your enemies. All of the following are class features of the swarmling.

Armor and Weapon Proficiency: None.

Rebirth When a swarmling dies it loses all of its memories, gear, all progress towards the next level, and is reborn at the hive.

Swarm You get a bonus to melee attack rolls for each other ally adjacent to the target. This bonus cannot exceed your class level.

Improved Swarm Your Swarm feature also affects you damage rolls.

Natural Armor You gain a natural armor bonus to your reflex defense.

Swarm Travel You and your allies can move at an overland speed equal to the highest speed of your group members. Any ally that starts it's turn adjacent to you can you your speed until the end of their turn. You may use an allies speed in the same way.

Natural Weapon Expertise You get an expertise bonus to your attack rolls using your natural weapons.

Gatherer You may always take 10 on survival checks made to find food and water.

Experienced Swarmling Starting at level 11 your HD become d10's. You also get a +1 bonus to all saving throws.

Brutal Weapons 1 You may reroll any 1 you roll on a damage die with any of your natural weapons. If it is a 1 again do not reroll again.

Brutal Weapons 2 You may reroll any 1 or 2 you roll on a damage die with any of your natural weapons. Reroll until it isn't a 1 or a 2.

Ex-Swarmlings[edit]

A swarmling who violates restrictions is killed by other slivers or cast out and can still advance as a swarmling but loses the rebirth feature.

Epic Swarmling[edit]

Epic swarmling choose Legion, Overlord, or Queen and take the ten levels that has to offer.

Sliver Swarmling Starting Package[edit]

Weapons: Natural weapons.

Skill Selection: Pick a number of skills equal to 4 + Int modifier.

Campaign Information[edit]

Playing a Swarmling[edit]

Religion: Religion and which deity to worship are not things that bother a swarmling. They do not worship any deity.

Other Classes: If the other class can be useful towards the hives progress the swarmling will happily work along side them.

Combat: Swarmlings serve as meatshields of the swarm but in the party they can fulfill a role based on damage.

Advancement: Upon reaching 21st level a swarmling becomes a Legion, an Overlord, or a Queen.

Swarmlings in the World[edit]

Swarmling like to serve the hive, while actually sentient beings they choose to serve the hive with their full devotion.

Daily Life: Wake, look for food, find it, eat, serve the hive, look for food, find it, eat, sleep.

Notables: 76 the only swarmling to reach the epic tier and become an Overlord.

Organizations: While most of these characters are part of a hive they tend to avoid cities unless invading. They do not participate in organizations.

NPC Reactions: "Oh, **** the swarm has arrived."

Swarmling Lore[edit]

Characters with ranks in can research to learn more about them. When a character makes a skill check, read or paraphrase the following, including information from lower DCs.

While this seems to be a good class for an NPC swarm of crazy beings the players could be the swarm against the world as well.
