What's a Spell-Theurge[edit]

Spell-Theurges are casters who broaden their spell casting abilities over numerous disciplines. They come in numerous combinations of spell casting. by sacrificing a small amount of power they gain utility and versatility.

Creating a Spell-Theurge[edit]


- Character Level 5+
- At least 1 level in 2 different spell casting class.
- Choose 2 spellcasting classes you have invested in (this choice is permanent).

Quick Build

You can make a Spell-Theurge quickly by following these suggestions.
First: Have invested at least 1 level in 2 spell casting class and be character level 5
Second: Choose 2 Spellcasting classes you have levels in (usually the only 2)
Third: Your Special Hitdie is the smaller Hitdie of the 2 caster classes (example, Wizard/Cleric would be 1d6 due to wizard having the smaller Hitdie)
Fourth: For every Level the Spell-theurge takes, Both spellcaster classes spells advance, Example (4 Bard/1 Druid/6 Spell-Theurge) has access to spells as if they were a level 10 Bard and/or level 7 Druid. The available spell slots is the same as a level 11 full caster.

The trade off for the Spell-Theurge is the Loss of class features for extra utility.

Class Features

As a Spell-Theurge you gain the following class features.

Hit Points

Hit Dice: 1d8 per Spell-Theurge level
Hit Points at 1st Level: 8 + Constitution modifier
Hit Points at Higher Levels: 1d8 (or 5) + Constitution modifier per Spell-Theurge level after 1st

Special HitDie[edit]

The Hitdie of the class is not fixed value due to spell casters have different hitdice between the classes. Since this Class is based off of Prestige (multi) Class, The Hitdie is based off the 2 pre-requisite classes so it's the lesser of 2 (if they're the same then the hit die is the same).

Spell Caster[edit]

The Spell-Theurge is a full caster class but it doesn't progress it's own spells but of 2 different other classes, refer to below.

Dual Spellcasting Progression[edit]

For every level in Spell-Theurge taken, both pre-requisite spell caster classes' spells progress. This spell progression only affects spells known and max spell level. Spell slots still follow the multiclassing rule. The class does not change any spell casting abilities so a Sorcerer/Ranger would use Charisma for sorcerer spells and Wisdom for Ranger spells (Half Caster). So example Sorcerer (X)/ Ranger (Y)/Spell-Theurge (Z) would have spell slots equivalent to (X+Y/2+Z).

Bonus Feat[edit]

At 2th Level and again at 6th, 10th, 14th, 18th level, you gain a feat. These extra feat(s) are to help replace class features that you would loose (balanced with the dual spell progression).

Ability Score Increase[edit]

When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.


Prerequisites. To qualify for multiclassing into the Spell-Theurge class, you must meet these prerequisites:
- Level 5+
- At least 1 level in 2 different spell casting classes
