Scorlins were created by a lesser unknown god named as Jal'al. He intended to create them to be as tireless as a camel, and needing as much water, but intelligent and able to do his good work. But a powerful demon named Scorl surprised him when he was creating the Jal'als(as he planned to call them). They fought, and Scorl won, as Jal'al was not a most powerful god. He wanted to corrupt Jal'al's creations for his own dark purpose. He made them assume a form similar to his own: a great scorpion. When the first Scorlins awoke, Scorl explained to them that he had created them. To earn their trust he defended them from desert monsters he summoned to attack them. The Scorlins suspected nothing. Knowing nothing of good and evil, they were molded into evil killing machines. They are convinced that what they do is right and so are some of the most evil races of the world.

Scorlin are very fierce and warlike, and will eat travelers through the desert. However, they don't like eating goblinoids(because of smell) or excessively furry things(ie. minotaurs, goatfolk, gnolls, etc.). They will trade for metal weapons if you convince them not to eat you first and like the metal bronze for jewelry. Scorlins hate driders and centaurs, saying they are cursed creatures made by unholy deities(all enemies of Scorl). They worship a demon known as Scorl(they're named after him, and don't look for the demon, 'cause I made him up) which looks like a Colossal Monstruous Scorpion. Scorpions of all sizes are sacred to them, and it is punishable by death to kill one, though they are rarely pious enough to die instead of killing one. They abide by their word always. the difficulty is in getting them to swear.

Physical Description[edit]

Scorlins look very much like driders, except instead of a spider body, it is a scorpion. They are 7 feet tall at the sholder and 4 feet tall where the chitinous humanoid torse meets the lower half. Their heads have sizable mandibles. They have human arms on the torso and scorpion pincers on the lower body. They are 7 feet long(not including the stinger). They are usually sand brown, light red, or yellow, though very rarely there are black scorlins. Such a black scorlin is believed to be destined for greatness.

Scorlins hate everyone, saying that they are the greatest forms of life. They will sometimes grace lesser races with their prescence, though they usually only do this if they want weapons, armour, or jewelry. Scorlin adventurers would not hesitate a second to betray comrades if they got something they wanted out of it.

Scorlins are almost always lawful evil. The rest of the time they are neutral or chaotic neutral.

Scorlins are most comftarble in deserts or subterranean locales. They hate the cold.

All Scorlins worship Scorl. Period. Scorlins kill all other Scorlins that worship any other deity.

They speak their own language, Scorlik, though Scorlins often learn Goblin or Orc so they can trade.

Scorlins aquire their names in a ritual where they either kill a monster or another Scorlin. if they kill a monster, they aquire a name according to how they defeated it(if a Scorlin killed a rust monster by stinging it to death, they call him Ruststinger). If he chose to kill a Scorlin, it gets their victim's name.(a Scorlin klls Ankhegpincher, so he is the new Ankhegpincher).
