Scales.png This page is of questionable balance. Reason: Psysic [sic] Infused bonus is too high. Insubstantial is overpowered, and yet "Can't use weapons or implements" makes the race incompatible with 4e (Utterly useless for weapon-wielding classes from the offset; won't benefit from enchantment bonuses so any class will be useless by Paragon.) Physical Being means the player will have to hope that every fight will have physical, humanoid, weapon-wielding enemies for a chance to do one dazed action per turn. Psychic Blast initially overpowered, then becomes useless by Paragon.

You can help D&D Wiki by better balancing the mechanics of this page. When the mechanics have been changed so that this template is no longer applicable please remove this template. If you do not understand balance please leave comments on this page's talk page before making any edits.

Physical Qualities[edit]

A Scared One (or simply a Scared) can be described as ghostly or phantasmal. Scared Ones have a wraith-like, haunting form in shades of blue, purple, green, and rarely black or red. A Scared One has blank, white eyes with human-like, blurred facial features. The rest of their body can change to resemble any manner of clothing at will. Scared Ones have a musical voice but when processing, they talk in a monotone, sometimes with both their own voice and their body's voice (a Bluff check can be made to counter-act this).

Scared Ones live as long as humans until they fade away into the Shadowfell.

Playing The Scared Ones[edit]

A long time ago the Scared Ones were human. They had a great kingdom in the Elemental Chaos, protected by huge domes. But one day a powerful force(depending on your campaign) blasted the cities so they could take the human's resources away. The bombs would have destroyed every living creature, but due to a malfunctioning spell, the colonist's souls didn't pass on and become more physical. This was a curse for the Scared Ones. The Scared Ones are people of great knowledge. They strive to learn and use their knowledge to survive. Scared Ones had suffer many hardships, but because they possessed such lore, they become masters over mental classes.

When they lost their bodies, they started to use others. This is useful when lying or making a similar Bluff check but it creates a problem: It's almost impossible to tell the different Scared Ones apart, and evil beings sometimes take advantage of this.

The Scared Ones Characteristics: beautiful, cunning, otherworldly, smart

Male Names: Typical Human names.

Female Names: Typical Human names.

Some Scared Ones take a concept as their name, just like tieflings.

Scared One Adventurers[edit]

Three sample <!-your race-> adventurers are described below.

Harmony is a Scared One bard. She prefers an animate body that she made herself. Harmony uses her voice to help her allies and uses her mind to research other lore. Her goal is to compose a magic song that will reunite the Scared One race.
