Class Skills ( + Int modifier per level)
. All of the following are class features of the planar fist.
Monk Abilities: Your add your class level to your monk level to determine your class-based AC bonus, unarmed damage, unarmored speed bonus, penalty on your attacks when using your flurry of blows ability, and the number of daily attempts of your Stunning Fist feat. If you have no monk levels, you gain the AC bonus of a monk whose level equals your planar fist level. In addition, you gain additional uses of the Stunning Fist feat as a monk. (Your non-monk, non-planar fist class levels provide one use per four levels and your monk, and planar fist class levels provide one use per level.) You do not count your class levels for the purpose of determining when you gain any other monk class features, such as bonus feats, evasion, or other special abilities.
Planar Form (Su): Through meditation and study, the planar fist discovers the means to manipulate the threads of extraplanar energy that tinges the outer edges of the material plane. At first level, she learns split her consciousness into ta planar form composed of essence from one of the three planes bordering the material plane: the astral, ethereal, and shadow planes. Her connection and manipulations of these planar forms powers most of her class features. Should she lose access to one of her forms, she cannot use any class features related to that form until such time that she regains access. At 1st level, she chooses which of the three forms she gains. At 4th level, she gains access to her second form, and at 7th she gains the 3rd.
Planar Manifestation (Su): As a standard action, a planar fist can choose to project a manifestation of her planar form. The planar manifestation is physically and mentally draining. While the form is active, she takes nonlethal damage each round equal to 15 - her planar fist class level. All planar manifestations have an AC equal to 10 + planar fist level + Wis modifier and hitpoints equal to (planar fist level + Con modifier) X 2. If the manifestations hitpoints are reduced to 0, she takes nonlethal damage equal to her planar fist level and cannot reform that manifestation for 1 hour. By taking a move action, she can replace her own senses with those of the manifestation. The abilities available to the manifestation depend on which form is manifested.
Astral Form: The astral form manifests as a monochrome translucent copy of the planar fist. It has a fly speed of 30ft with good maneuverability. It can travel out to 30 + 5ft per planar fist level. It has low-light vision and a +4 on spot and listen checks. It can interact with objects much like an unseen servant with the following exception: the manifestation's Strength score is equal to the planar fist's.
Shadow Form: The shadow form manifests as an inky black silhouette of the planar fist. It has a land speed equal to the planar fist's and is incorporeal so long as it's in dim light or darkness. It has an effective range of 60 + 10ft per planar fist level. It has darkvision out to 60ft and a +6 bonus to spot checks. It can threaten adjacent spaces and, as a standard action, can make a single attack using the planar fist's BAB + Wis modifier that deals nonlethal damage equal to 1/2 the planar fist's unarmed damage.
Ethereal Form: The ethereal form manifests as an incorporeal, invisible mass in the general shape of the planar fist. It has a fly speed of double the planar fist's land speed with perfect maneuverability and a range of 1 mile per 2 planar fist levels. It has blindsight out to 30ft and a +6 on listen checks. Accessing the senses of an ethereal form is a free action.
Uncanny Dodge:Starting at 2nd level, a planar fist can react to danger before her senses would normally allow her to do so. She retains her Dexterity bonus to AC (if any) even if she is caught flat-footed or struck by an invisible attacker. However, she still loses her Dexterity bonus to AC if immobilized. If a planar fist already has uncanny dodge from a different class (a planar fist with at least two levels of barbarian, for example), she automatically gains improved uncanny dodge (see below) instead.
Planar Senses (Su): At 3rd level, a planar fist begin to discover the means by which to infuse her material form with extraplanr power. As a move action, she can choose to enhance her senses through one of her planar forms. The form chosen cannot be currently manifested. Teh ability lasts until she chooses to drop it as a free action.
Astral Form: She gains lowlight vision and persistent detect magic. If she already has low-light vision, she gains a +6 competence bonus to spot.
Shadow Form: She gains darkvision out to 60ft. If she already possesses dakvision, its range increases by 30ft.
Ethereal Form: She gains blindsense out to 30ft.
Ki Strike (Su): At 4th level, a planar fist's unarmed attacks are treated as cold iron weapons for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction.
Planar Movement (Su): At 5th level, a planar fist improves her natural means of movement via her planar forms. As a move action, she can choose to infuse her muscles with energy from one of her planar forms. The form chosen cannot be currently manifested. The ability lasts until she chooses to drop it as a free action.
Astral Form: As a move action, she can teleport up to 30ft. She does not need to have line of sight or effect, though if she attempts to teleport into an occupied space, she is shunted 10ft in a random direction and take 2d6 force damage.
Shadow Form: As a move action, she can teleport from one shadow to another within 60ft. After using this ability, the next attack she makes before the end of her next turn catches the target flatfooted.
Ethereal Form: As a move action, she can use air walk on herself as a spell-like ability with a caster level equal to her planar fist level.
Improved Uncanny Dodge (Ex): A planar fist of 6th level or higher can no longer be flanked; she can react to opponents on opposite sides of her as easily as she can react to a single attacker. This defense denies a rogue the ability to sneak attack the character by flanking her, unless the attacker has at least four more rogue levels than the target does. If a character already has uncanny dodge (see above) from a second class, the character automatically gains improved uncanny dodge instead, and the levels from the classes that grant uncanny dodge stack to determine the minimum rogue level required to flank the character.
Planar Blows (Su): At 7th level, a planar fist learns how to infuse her unarmed attacks with extraplanar energy. As a swift action, she can empower her attacks for 1 round using energy from a form not currently manifested.
Astral Form: Her unarmed strikes are infused with astral threads, granting an extra 1d10 of force damage to her attacks.
Shadow Form: Her unarmed strikes are infused with shadow energy, granting her an extra 2d6 of precision damage against flat-footed or flanked enemies. This functions like the rogue's sneak attack, and, although it is considered precision damage, it is not sneak attack, skirmish, or sudden strike damage.
Ethereal Form: Her unarmed strikes are treated as attacks from an incorporeal creature; they pass through (ignore) natural armor, armor, and shields, although deflection bonuses and force effects (such as mage armor) work normally against it. However, this weakens the attack. Attacks made with this ability do not add her strength modifier to damage and do not benefit from feats like power attack.
Plane Shift (Sp): At 8th level, a planar fist has learned the means by which to physically travel to another plane. She can, as a spell-like ability, cast Plane Shift on herself only. She travels without error a number of times per day equal to 1 + Wis modifier per day (minimum 1).
Dual Form (Su): At 10th level, a planar fist has reached the fullest potential of her training. Whenever she activates one of her planar abilities that utilizes a planar form, she may activate the abilities of two forms with a single action.
A planar fist who becomes nonlawful cannot gain new levels as a planar fist but retains all planar fist abilities. A monk who gains levels in planar fist may still take levels in monk, though if she would take levels in another class the normal rules apply.
