Physical Description[edit]

Miko were normal humans until you become a container for your god, when that happens your skin becomes albino or dark, your eyes become red, orange or golden and your hair becomes completely white, black or golden. (Some may grow horn or something like scales, this is more common in evil gods).

The traditional attire of a miko would be a pair of red hakama (long, divided trousers) or a long, red, slightly pleated skirt tied with a bow, a white haori (kimono jacket), and some white or red hair ribbons.

History[edit]

While undergoing various rituals and trials one miko among several and chosen among them, she considers herself as Dai Miko (Great Shrine Maiden) and becomes the highest authority of her temple. With the divine powers they acquire, some begin to travel to acquire more faithful ones, others try to increase even more the influence of the temple in the region. (Miko follower of evil gods may try to start a war among other cults to demonstrate the strength of their god or to become the only absolute religion.)

Miko/Geki Names[edit]

Rarely do men become receptacles of gods, men become are called Geki. Generally Geki has a feminine appearance.

Male: Unisex names.

Female: Names female common for humans.

Miko Traits[edit]

Ability Score Increase. Your Wisdom or Intelligence score increases by 2 and your Charisma score increases by 2.
Age. Miko have the same natural lifespan as regular humans, maturing in their teens and generally living no more than a century.
Alignment. Your alignment will depend on the god you follow. Gods of light, life, and the like are usually Good. Gods of Wisdom, nature or war and the like are usually neutral. Gods of evil or death and the like are usually chaotic.
Size. Miko are the same size as humans. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Religious education. You gain proficiency in the Religion skill, and if you do not have proficiency in the History skill, you are considered proficient when making a History check related to celestials or fiends.
Celestial Resitance. Your creature type is both celestial and humanoid. You are resistant to radiant or necrotic. You have advantage on saving throws against being frightened.
Kamigakari. You can perform a ritual to channel a dead creature's soul or deity into your body. To channel a person's soul, you must know their name and what they look like. For deities, you need only know their name. You must spend at least 1 minute in concentration, after which the connection is established. For the next 10 minutes, that soul or deity will use your mouth to speak. Other people can ask the soul or deity up to 3 questions regarding present or future events, or for more specific guidance concerning a problem. How the question is answered is up to GM discretion, and they are under no obligation to answer truthfully. This connection can end early by your choice, or if your body reaches 0 hit points. You may only perform this ritual once, and regain the ability to perform it again when you finish a long rest. During this ritual, the soul or deity may attempt to wrest control over your body. You then must make a Winsdom saving throw with a DC of 15. Failure means that the soul or deity takes full control over your body for the remainder of the ritual and you can no longer end this by your choice. After which, you have no memory of what they were using your body to do. During the time, the DM (if it was a NPC) or player (if it was a dead player's character) is in full control of your character. While in control, instead of yours, they instead have the proficiencies and know the languages they had in life while using your body, and can use any of your racial or class features as they please. You are aware of attempts to take control, and can choose to end the connection immediately on a successful save to prevent more attempts.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Ceslestial or infernal.
