Machine Doll, Variant (5e Race)
From D&D Wiki
A re-balancing of the Machine Doll race
"from the day I was born, I was but a mere tool. Then this tool was given a purpose and for the first time in her Existence, she started living.”

Machine Dolls tend to look like humans with some of the more intricate designs being indiscernible from their flesh and bone mold. The exterior of the doll shows hints of mechanical nature as most machine dolls have lines running down their cheeks or eyes where the doll would remove their face either for replacement or repair. Their exterior bodies (excluding the most intricate designs) are featureless except for shape, their joints are riveted to allow removal, however, this requires the doll to remove the safety locks as to avoid tampering while on hibernation. The cores reside on the center of the body underneath the chest close to the spine, this core when revealed shines with the energy that powers the doll, generally the same color as the eyes of the doll. The synthetic hair allows for a multitude of hairstyles and they can be shaped in ways almost impossible for humans thanks to the rigidity of the hair it can also be dyed with relative ease. Their skin is synthetically made of the small self-fixing nanobots that fix the doll over time, they can only repair small cuts at a time but with enough time they can regenerate almost completely back to new.
- Underground lab, time
-A new project has been handed down to us-
-What is it ?-
-They told us to develop a weapon to minimize human casualties, a robot to replace soldiers-
-Simple killing machines have they no taste for the art?-
-Not everyone has the same passion as YOU do get any ideas?-
-Well, we can either make what they want . . . or we can go one step higher-
-Ohh what do you have planned a goliath robot? a mechanized dragon?-
-I have something better, what if we take the creature at the top of the feeding chain . . . and make it better, an emulation of what Perfection strives to be-
-So a mechanical dragon then?-
-YOU FOOL I'm talking about mankind, we live in a dangerous world but despite our lack of evolution we have managed to climb just as high if not higher than any other race, we have masters of the arcane, hunters better than any elves, and people who dare fight dragons with their bare hands, imagine what a human could accomplish with the right body . . .-
-So you want to make people robots?-
-Precisely, start working on an exoskeleton I'll work on the core-
And so the first machine doll was made a being meant to emulate the peak of humanity
-we have done it my vision is almost complete now we just need to power her. .-
-Are you sure we should do this?.. this thing, it looks to real almost as if it were a real girl. .-
-stop whining we made this thing now it's time to see if we successfully played god or if we just made the worlds most expensive doll *whump*-
A loud thunder can be heard as the activation lever is pulled down a single creature starts moving from the table its movements are static and calculated devoid of emotion as the creature rises it stands and looks at its creators . . . the video cuts here, this is thought to be the creation of the first machine doll, it is unknown when they gained their autonomy but some think that it was given by the strong desire of their original creator.
Machine dolls tend to blend in with human society mostly used as performers and war soldiers their capability to blend so seemingly makes them a potential threat to anyone attempting to attack a human settlement. While they have certainly been helpful to humans, they are regarded mostly as tools that serve no purpose other than their service to their master. As such, many machine dolls that have rebelled against their masters have escaped and tried to blend into other human societies. It is not uncommon for small villages outside of cities to be made mostly if not entirely out of rogue machine dolls that have obtained autonomy.
Machine doll Names
most Machine dolls are named for what they were originally made for, the models often being names of gods or artifacts that excel at their given task. as such machine dolls are often just called by their model, however, when machine dolls go against their masters will they change their names in order to escape their number. The original number and model is engraved on their backs

Machine Doll Traits
A race of mechanical constructs fashioned to look like humans . . . they even feel like humans at times.
Ability Score Increase. + 1 to Constitution
Age. Machine Dolls are ageless they can live as long as they have proper maintenance.
Alignment. Machine dolls tend to follow the alignment of their masters in order to please them, however, machine dolls that have gone against their masters have found alignments on all spectrums. A machine doll can be just as evil as the worst devil, as lawful as the best paladin or care as little as any peasant.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30ft
Darkvision. Your mechanical eyes are designed to adapt to low light allowing you to see in the dark up to 60ft however you can't discern color in darkness only shades of grey.
Mechanical Exoskeleton. Your body is made from strong alloy's designed to be either resilient or light. Your AC increases by +1.
Living Machine. As a machine you are considered a "construct" you don't need to breathe but need to be maintained or oiled once a week. You are also resistant to poison as it can still affect your inner mechanisms made of synthetic flesh. Because of this, you are not immune to disease, paralysis and other effects that would normally not affect constructs, but are unable to heal from any source except hit dice or long rests and must be reconstructed when killed.
Core Energy Recovery. While you don't need sleep you still have to spend time in a "hibernation" state to accumulate power in your core, a full charge requires 8 hours of full hibernation (long rest) and lasts around 48 hours before needing another charge. If you continue to move with little energy (48 hours with no long rest), you gain a level of exhaustion for every 1d2 hours that follow. All exhaustion gained this way vanishes after a long rest.
Languages. Common, 1 other of your choice (the language of creator/master)
Subrace. War doll, Play doll, Magic doll

The color of the blast is the same color as the dolls eyes.
