The Kurantans are essentially humans with equine-like traits, these traits manifesting physically as an extra pair of ears on the top of their heads similar to those found on horses and other equine like creatures, horse-like tails which match the colour of their hair, a great amount of stamina, and the speed to match it.
Most Kurantans are known to be born in Kazimierz.
Most Kurantans hail from Kazimierz which is mostly covered with forests and small mountain ranges. They mostly live in small isolated villages, whose development are often overlooked by the Kazimierzian government in favor of larger towns and cities, causing the villages to suffer from poverty more than the rest of the country. Most Kurantans have a firm sense of honor which stems from the Knights of old who used to rule their homeland of Kazimierz. Though about 160 years ago, the Knights fell out of favor and their power diminished, the title of Knight now more akin to a prestigious profession then a title. Their language native language of Kazimierzian is described as being similar to Polish or Lithuanian.
Kurantan society can be described as being feudal up until about 160 years ago when the Knights of Kazimierz fell out of favor. Kurantan society today can be described as an oligarchy or corporatocracy. Kazimierz is also known for maintaining an institution of slavery, though it is seen to be not as brutal as compared to other places.
Kurantan names often proper sounding, regal or carry an air of nobility.
