Giga Gygax Logo

Giga Gygax[edit]

The Giga Gygax is not for the faint of heart as the combat system is more strained on the roll of your dice and the flip of your coin.

Making a Giga Gygax[edit]

Some strong points that they have is since their main weapon is reliant on chance they can use elemental effects by using a die and a coin is used to power their "spells", but on the same note the elemental effects can lower in damage due to the d% and instead of critting from the coin they could deal no damage at all.

Abilities: They thrive on chance, from their weapons all the way down to how they cast their spells. They have to rely on die rolls for their "main attack", as well as drawing from a deck and a coin flip for their "spells".

Races: Any race as long as they are in a neutral alignment.

Alignment: Any Neutral alignment.

Starting Gold: 3d12×10 gp(Up to DM/GM).

Starting Age: Simple.

Class Features[edit]

The class features of the Giga Gygax are similar to that of clerics and sorcerers, while being more based on luck and being able to do some light hand to hand combat.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Their main-hand weapon is always the Dragon's Die.

For off-hand weapons they are proficient with short swords, daggers, punching daggers, and gauntlets/spiked gauntlets.

Defense wise they can wear all light armor and medium armor but for medium armor they take a ×1.25 armor check penalty. The only shields they can wield is bucklers and a light shields.

Deck Draws/Day: A Giga Gygax’s ability to manifest spells/powers is limited by the Deck Draws they have available per day. Their base daily allotment of Deck Draws is given on Table: Giga Gygax. What this means is that the player may draw up to the allotted draws from the deck outside of the game to manifest a random spell-like ability into the game.

Deck Size: The out of game deck's size is based off of Table: Giga Gygax. Giga Gygaxes choose their spell-like abilities from the Sorcerer Spell List, Druid Spell List, Psion/Wilder Powers List, or Cleric Spell List. Those who choose from the Cleric Spell List must choose a Deity.

Players choose any number of the lists to pick from, then for each spell/power/spell-like ability grouping they choose the amount equal to the amount of cards for each grouping. After all of the spells for each grouping are picked then they are each assigned a different card following the list below:

0 level spells/powers/spell-like abilities— All Twos

1st level spells/powers/spell-like abilities— All Threes, All Fours

2nd level spells/powers/spell-like abilities— All Fives, All Sixes

3rd level spells/powers/spell-like abilities— All Sevens, All Eights

4th level spells/powers/spell-like abilities— All Nines

5th level spells/powers/spell-like abilities— All Tens

6th level spells/powers/spell-like abilities— All Jacks

7th level spells/powers/spell-like abilities— All Queens

8th level spells/powers/spell-like abilities— All Kings

9th level spells/powers/spell-like abilities— All Aces

Copper Coin: When drawing a spell from your deck you must flip a coin and call a side. If you call it right then the spell does normal damage, if you call it wrong then the spell only does half damage.

Unpredictable Caster (Ex): When attempting to cast a spell the player must draw a card from their deck instead, assuming that they have a Deck Draw/day left. The card that is drawn determines which spell is cast (refer to Deck Size for spell assignment).
