This page is of questionable balance. Reason: 120 feet of truesight is imbalanced for pretty much any race at level 1. You are giving a free 6th-level spell effect that is passive. Think about that. Consult the bonthain race and how it is disclaimered and nerfed heavily due to having this powerful trait.

Fyx[edit]
Believed to be the descendants of elven cats, fyx have evolved into their own species. This theory surfaced due to the fact that fyx prefer the company of elves. They can, however, be found in the company of other good-aligned humanoid races such as gnomes and most humans.
With their keen minds and opposable thumbs, they are able to wield weapons and even learn and cast spells, though they prefer to choose paths that involve nature, such as rangers or druids.
The plural of fyx is fyx.
Physical Description[edit]
A fyx appears to be a large, elongated domestic cat. They can be black, white, black with white markings, or white with black markings. Fyx eyes are generally emerald green, lavender or gold, but they can have the same color ranges as elves. Fyx have retractable claws which can be extended for climbing or drawn in for speed.
History[edit]
Fyx have the ability to see things as they are. It is theorized that they were hunted by some unseen predators for thousands of years, leading to the development of this ability. When a fyx sees something or someone that has been changed or disguised via illusion or polymorph, they are quite vocal about it, shouting, "Not real! Not real!" This reaction lends credence to the theory, though the fyx themselves don’t speak of their history.
Fyx were once highly sought after by wizards and alchemists because of their healing abilities, as well as their truesight. It was widely believed in these two circles that a fyx's salivary glands could be used to produce gender-specific healing potions and that their eyes would imbue items with truesight. It was found that any part of a fyx used for magical items or spells will not, however, produce any magical effects. Some wizards want them as familiars, though this is not possible due to their independent nature.
Fyx cannot be used as pets, so they are taken as slaves because of their special qualities. Females sell for approximately 10,000 gold pieces, while males sell for 20,000 gold pieces because of their rarity. Fyx tongues and eyes are still valuable in the black market. Their tongue sells for 500-1,000 gold pieces, and their eyes sell for 1,500-2,000 gold pieces per pair, half price for one eye.
Society[edit]
Though fyx can live anywhere, they prefer to reside in forested areas alongside elves, who view fyx as useful for scouts.
Fyx are mostly solitary creatures but can be found in small groups. If found in such a group, 80% of them will be female, and each female has a 35% chance of having 1-4 cubs. If a female that is accompanied by a male doesn't have cubs, there is a 25% chance she will be pregnant.
Female fyx outnumber males 5 to 1.
Fyx love to swim.

Fyx do not adhere to any naming conventions, naming their children whatever they think sounds good.

Fyx Traits[edit]
Small magical feline.
Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 2 and your Wisdom score increases by 1.
Age. Fyx mature at age 2 and have long natural lifespans, living to be about 300 years old.
Alignment. Though they are often hunted, fyx are naturally good creatures. They tend to be neutral good but there are almost always exceptions and your fyx can be any alignment you choose.
Size. Fyx stand between 3 and 3-1/2 feet tall. Females are slightly smaller and slimmer than males. Your size is Small.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 20 feet, 40 feet quadripedal. Climb 30 feet.
truesight. A creature with truesight can, out to a specific range, see in normal and magical darkness, see invisible creatures and objects, automatically detect visual illusions and succeed on saving throws against them, and perceives the original form of a shapechanger or a creature that is transformed by magic. Furthermore, the creature can see into the Ethereal Plane. A fyx has truesight out to 60 feet.
Light Fall. Fyx always land on their feet and take damage from a fall as if it were 30 ft. less.
Healing Lick. If wounded, a fyx can lick itself to heal hit points as if casting cure wounds as a 1st-level cleric, without modifiers (1d8). If a fyx encounters a wounded person, because of its good tendencies, it has a 60% chance of helping the person, using its healing lick. For some unknown reason, a fyx may only heal creatures of the opposite gender (excluding itself). In other words, a male fyx may only heal a female and a female fyx may only heal a male. This trait is usable once per long rest.
Cat's Talent. You have proficiency in the Perception and Stealth skills.
Unarmored. Fyx cannot wear armor of any kind.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice. You can speak Feline.
