Einherjar[edit]

Einherjar are the chosen dead warriors of the Norse god Odin.

Multiclassing[edit]

Prerequisites. To qualify for multiclassing into the Einherjar class, you must meet these prerequisites:

  • Strength 13. Odin only chooses strong warriors to dine in his court.
  • You must have died in battle against an evil creature of your CR or higher with a weapon in hand. Valkryie are only drawn to those slain in great battles.
  • You must have been brought back to life with a raise dead, resurrection or wish spell.
  • You must worship a good-aligned deity of the Norse pantheon (see PHB p. 299).
  • Character level 5th.


As a Einherjar you gain the following class features.

Hit Dice: 1d10 per Einherjar level
Hit Points per Level: 1d10 (or 6) + Constitution modifier per Einherjar level

Path of Valr[edit]

If you are male, you gain the Undead Vigor trait. If you are female, you may choose either the Undead Vigor feature or the Valkyrie feature.

Undead Vigor

Your type is undead. You are immune to poison and disease. You do not need to eat or breathe.

At 5th level, when you hit with a weapon attack you can spend one of your hit dice. Roll the hit dice, add your Constitution modifier. The attack deals extra damage equal to the result.

Valkyrie

You gain a fly speed of 60 ft.

At 5th level, you can cast raise dead on a humanoid that died fighting an evil creature of a CR at least equal to the target's level (or CR). That humanoid may subsequently multiclass in the einherjar class without having to meet the other prerequisites.

Alf Seiðr[edit]

As well as martial training, einherjar also have gentle magic in their blood. At 2nd level, you know the faerie fire, heroism and cure wounds spells. You can cast each as a 1st-level spell once, then must finish a long rest before you can do so again.

Training for Ragnarok[edit]

When you reach 3rd level, choose one type of martial weapon and one type of simple weapon. When you deal damage with your chosen martial weapon, you gain +2 to damage rolls with your chosen simple weapon for 1 minute.

Ability Score Increase[edit]

When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of you choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.
