Dragon Cavalier[edit]

The Dragon Cavaliers are a prodigious group of swordsmen and women who ride on young dragons. When they were born, a Dragon Cavalier will be given an egg at birth. This egg is either black, blue, brass, bronze, copper, gold, green, red, silver, or white dragon.

The Dragon Cavalier[edit]

The dragons raised by a Dragon Cavalier do not have potent breath weapons, and they are naturally smaller. The dragon-riding is only for a mobile advantage in the air. Dragon Cavaliers must endure years of harsh training in their dragon's suitable climate. As a result, their dragon is more attuned to their breath weapon climate. Dragon Cavaliers, after 10 years of specialized training in the arts of swords or spells, sees them graduate with a sword specialized to them, a specialized piece of armor, and specialized dragon armor.

Dragon Soul[edit]

At 1st level, you have a special weapon and armor set for you. Your dragon also has a special armor set. These sets of armor and your weapon attune to your soul, giving them more power as you grow.

The Soul Blade is a one-handed sword that deals 1d4 (dragon breath weapon type) damage + Strength or Wisdom modifier. The damage increases to 1d8 at 10th level and gains Reach. You can now shoot energy beams out of the edge that deal 2d6 (dragon breath weapon type) at 120ft of range and takes an attack action to cast. This uses your Wisdom modifier. Finally, the damage increases to 1d12 at 17th level and the energy beams deal 2d8 (dragon breath weapon type) damage.

The Soul Plate is a heavy armor type that gives 10 + Strength modifier + Wisdom modifier(Minimum AC 12). The AC increases to 12 + Strength modifier + Wisdom modifier(Minimum AC 14) at 10th level. Finally, the AC increases to 14 + Strength modifier + Wisdom modifier(Minimum AC 16) at 17th level. This armor does not give disadvantage on Dexterity(Stealth) checks. The same effects go toward your dragon's armor.

Draconic Mind[edit]

At 1st level, your intense training with your dragon has shaped your mind to its and you gained some of its attributes.

You have advantage on all Dexterity checks against traps. You have advantage on Wisdom (Insight) and Wisdom (Perception) checks. You can give orders to your dragon in battle. Your dragon has ability scores and abilities equal to the Wyrmling variant and deals half as much damage (rounded down). Your dragon cannot use its breath weapon (see Dragon's Breath). At 10th level, the damage dealt by your Wyrmling variant dragon is back to normal. Finally, at 17th level, your dragon may use the ability scores and abilities of the Young Dragon variant.

Draconic Specialization[edit]

At 2nd level, you choose a Specialization. Choose between The Sword or The Spell, both detailed at the end of the class description. Your choice grants you features at 2nd level and again at 9th, 14th, and 20th level.

Draconic Burst[edit]

At 5th level, your dragon can use its bonus action to share its pool of energy to give you more power in your strikes. You deal 1d8 more damage if you hit a creature you choose. This damage scales with your level. You must complete a short/long rest before you can use this feature again.

Aerial Cavalier[edit]

At 6th level, during your turn, you can climb onto your dragon's armored saddle and ride on it. You are raised 20ft in the air and cannot attack with a melee attack. You can still command your dragon to attack, however.

Extra Attack[edit]

At 11th level, you can take another attack action. This increases to two at 15th level and finally three at 19th level.

Ability Score Improvement[edit]

When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th, and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.

Specialization: The Sword[edit]

Always intrigued by the blade and how to masterfully wield one, you are driven down the path to rivaling legendary heroes in their sword mastery.

Blessed Blade (Melee)

At 2nd level when you choose this specialization, your Soul Blade gleams with radiant light. Melee attacks you make with your Soul Blade deal double damage against undead creatures.

Strength in Twos

At 9th level, any attack roll you make that uses Strength, you have advantage.
