The multiverse of Oredell[edit]

The multiverse of Oredell is centered around the material plane. The planes outside of this are very much so limited, as most of them have fallen out of connection. The main ones are the Material Plane, the Overworld, the Underworld, and the Elemental Planes.

The Overworld... The plane of the gods, a place of Holy power, and good. The Overworld is covered in huge clouds, golden mountains, and a cities full of heavenly fire.

Entrance to the Overworld is barred by a powerful entity, known as the Guardian, who stands ever ready in front of a magnificent gate. The gate itself blocks off entrance to the Overworld and stops portals from opening inside. The guardian himself is a large man, with blonde hair and golden eyes, in brilliant golden armor who wields blades of heavenly fire. He is a relentless guard and allows none of an evil alignment in without slaying him first.

The Overworld itself, realm of the gods, has a massive city, half-ruined, and with only a few standing buildings. Across the rest of the plane lies cities in total ruin, with no signs of life other than the wailing spirits of the faithful from long ago. The plane darkens the further away you get from the main city, falling into total darkness at the edge. If watched closely you would notice that the darkness seems to reach forward and ever so slowly consume the light that is the Overworld.

The Underworld... The plane of Fiends, and a place of absolute evil. The Underworld is a place of death and destruction, covered in demons and devils.

The Underworld is the domain of the lord known as Jurresh'Keel the Fallen. He rules over all of the Underworld along with 5 Archdukes, each of which opposes to one of the gods. These devils, and Jurresh'Keel himself all work from the shadows to subvert the gods, gathering an army of demons to conquer the world, and their personal guard of greater devils.

Elemental Planes... The 4 elemental planes: fire, water, earth, and air, are constantly crashing against each other as they circle all the other planes. As they crash they cause storms of elemental magic in the other planes.

The Feywilds... The Feywilds is the domain of the 3 Archfey Lords who have sealed it off from the material plane, aside from the portal leading to the hidden island of Druidia, on the material plane. It has 3 Courts: the Court of Thorns, the Court of Woods, and the Court of Seasons.

The Court of Thorns is covered in flowers and is dominated by a gigantic hedge maze, formed of rose bushes covered in cursed black roses. Not much is known as it is extremely hard to survive as you approach it's lords seat of power. The Court of Woods is a huge forest with a massive tree at the center. The tree is home to a massive city with all manner of fey creatures. The Court of Seasons is a place settled by very few fey, and all that live there have to adapt to the extreme changes caused by a shift in seasons, forcing them to switch between forms or apparel for each of the seasons. The lords seat of power is a large castle that switches between seasons and what covers it.

The Umbra... A place of shadows, where nothing is what it seems, and where all of your best dreams and worst nightmares come from.

Also known as the land of slumbers, it is a place of the mind, prone to chaos and where every moment counts. No physical form may enter the Umbra, but your mind does every time you fall asleep. It is home to strange beings and is directly connected to the material plane. Those whose minds enter may never encounter one of these beings, but those who do will find themselves either lost forever to the Umbra, or granted the power of it's inhabitants.

The Astral Plane... The astral plane is the pathway between all of the other planes of the multiverse. Many of the pathways connecting the multiverse together have collapsed, loosing several planes into oblivion, and cutting off most portals in and out of the material plane.

Travel... Travel between the realms is very difficult, and requires powerful magic. A portal must be crafted and enchanted as it is built, and when it is set up requires lots of people to maintain. Portals are hard to find and harder to gain access to.

Summoning between Realms... The summoning of creatures from other realms is almost as hard as travelling between realms. A lot of the work is removed as it is not meant to be permanent. A summoning circle is usually meant to be one time and so does not require much in the way of cost and material. Summoning things by name forces them to respond, though how safe that'll be depends on your preparations.
