Ceangailte[edit]

Bound to the mortal realms, Elemental essence in a metal casing, "Ceangailte" as we so call them seem to long to return to their elemental planes.

Physical Description[edit]

Ceangailte are beings of elemental energy bonded to a suit of armor, and can vary as much as their suits do. However, certain things stay the same. Ceangailte's armor often has elemental energy leaking out, such as smoke pouring from the eye slits in a helmet, barnacles and coral growing on pauldrons, great crystal growths, or a powerful breeze. Ceangailte armor is always modeled as a full suit of plate, complete with helmet, gloves, and boots. Inside the armor, a Ceangailte resembles an elemental of medium size. Due to lacking vocal cords, Ceangailte are always monotone. However, they experience the full spectrum of emotions and feelings.

History[edit]

Created by a wizard during a great war and used by the elite, Ceangailte are born of battle. Their souls are bound to their armor, and as such, when killed they cannot return to the elemental planes where they originate. This feeling of imprisonment has led many a Ceangailte to rebel against those that bought them after the war.

Society[edit]

Ceangailte have no true society, as a creation of humans. Many find kin with elemental born such as genasi, but in truth they envy them.

<Ceangailte> Names[edit]

Ceangailte have two names: Their designation, and the name they pick for themselves. As elementals, Ceangailte do not have gender as a human would know it, though some may identify as masculine or feminine. Chosen names often relate to nature and the element they represent or are a play on their designation itself.
