Weapon (shortsword), very rare (major tier) (requires attunement)

An item unknown to all, but the greatest users of divination magic. It rests inside the stomach of the great beast that lies within the temple on Batheron's Heel, giving it strength beyond compare, resting inside the creature for thousands of years. Batheron's Scourge is a shortsword, and an incredibly bizarre one at that. An almost impractical design covers the hilt and handle, spirals upon spirals of black and silver twirls, that occasionally seem to move on their own. The blade, however, is simple in design, however it has peculiar colorings that fade from blue to purple to red to blue and back, pulsing up through the strange material slowly. Incredibly little is known of the item, but it is believed that it is something of a "psychic amplifier", activating some form of inherent psionic power most creatures are unable to access.

Mindspikes. This weapon counts as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to non-magical attacks. It deals 1d6 additional Psychic damage on a melee attack. Additionally, You can make ranged attacks with this weapon, with a range of 30/60 feet. These deal 1d8 Psychic damage on a hit. You can also use either your Strength, Intelligence, or Wisdom as your modifier when making a range attack instead of Dexterity.

Overcharge. When you hit with a ranged attack from Mindspikes, you can choose to instead deal 8d8 psychic damage on a hit. You can do this once, and regain the ability to do this after a long rest. While you cannot use Overcharge, the weapon no longer has the Mindspikes property.

Brain Shield. When you are forced to make an Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma saving throw, you can reroll a failed save once. You must use the second result. You can do this twice, and regain both uses on a long rest.
