Combat Series: 1944 Backgrounds[edit]

Foot-Soldier[edit]

Skill Proficiencies: Choose 2 from Perception, Insight, Investigation or Survival

Tool Proficiencies: Musical Instrument, Gaming set of your choice

Languages: one of your choice from English, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Polish, Chinese, or any other language alive during the second world war.

Equipment: (1) Assault Rifle and 60 Heavy ammo, Light Combat Armor, flash light, a set of common clothes (Gi outfit), 3 days of Rations, and a belt pouch with 15 gold.

Feature: Stalwart Guardian[edit]

You may elect to place yourself in the path of danger in order to protect your charge. Any time that you are within 5 feet of your charge, and your charge suffers an attack, you may switch places with your charge and receive the attack in their place. You must declare this before the attack roll is made.

Doctor[edit]

Skill Proficiencies: Medicine, History

Tool Proficiencies: Medical Equipment, Herbalism Kit

Languages: one of your choice from English, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Polish, Chinese, or any other language alive during the second world war.

Equipment: (2) Medkit, (2) Medical Bandage, (1) Smoke grenade, common clothes, 3 days of Rations, a pouch containing 10 gp, and an insignia denoting your role as a medic

Feature: Health Care Specialist[edit]

You are a medical soldier, who heals the heart, mind and body. Wherever you go, you are welcomed. Soldiers of all ranks and villagers alike will come to you with their wounds, illnesses, and to seek spiritual guidance (as long as similar alignment, values). If you help others, they will help you; this will provide you with contacts and allies others don't have.

Engineer[edit]

Skill Proficiencies: Arcana (Engineering) and One of the following: Investigation, Perception, Nature, or Medicine.

Tool Proficiencies: Engineering Equipment

Languages: one of your choice from English, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Polish, Chinese, or any other language alive during the second world war.

Equipment: Common clothes, Submachine Gun and 24 Light ammo, (3) Mechanics Kit, (1) Fragmentation Grenade, and a Tiny or smaller invention made by you, small pouch containing 15 gold.

Feature: Vehicles are my love[edit]

You have a knack for vehicles, you can roll an Arcana (Engineering) check to look for a vehicle weak spot or for when you are fixing a vehicle, see where the major damage is located and gain advantage on a hit point recovery roll for that vehicle.

Alternate Feature: Explosives are my love[edit]

You have a knack for blowing things up, you can roll an Arcana (Engineering) and use some junk from around you, you can make a grenade. You can use this once per short rest.

Hunter[edit]

Skill Proficiencies: Choose two from Nature, Stealth, Animal Handling and Survival

Tool Proficiencies: Herbalism kit or Poisoner's kit

Languages: one of your choice from English, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Polish, Chinese, or any other language alive during the second world war.

Equipment: Herbalism kit or Poisoner's kit, Dagger, Carbine Rifle (16 Light ammo), a trophy from your best hunt (i.e. a bear's claw or deer antlers), and an animal companion.

Feature: One last favor[edit]

Your years of service to a military can give you bonuses when you are in need of help. When in a town with the same military as the one you worked for, you can ask for shelter for you and your group. Along with free rations, depending on your service you may be asked to accomplish certain tasks as payment. These tasks can be as large or as little to the DM's discretion.
