Aalar's Chosen[edit]

Aalar is the evil god of stars. He wants to ensure that humans fear the night, so he may rule it unchallenged. His domains are Light (because of the light from the moon), and Twilight (because he wishes to claim precedence over it), and uncommonly, Nature.

Aalar is the god who won the claim to being the Lord of the Dark, from the titan Zanalaq. He has clashed with Torm many times, in which it is usually a spectacular defeat. He loses because of his form, which defeated Zanalaq's forces easily but are weak against Torm's allies. Aalar resembles a gargantuan, jet-black, cyclopean wolf, and his single, white eye represents the moon.

Aalar hates most of the pantheon, save for Auril. He understands that with dark, there must be cold, and Auril sees that ice forms best at night. Because of this, most of his worshipers are mainly sentient undead and Aberrations, beings who live in the cold darkness. Because of his frequent clashes with the deities of light, and his frequent losses, his followers often attempt to steal divine weapons, often with cosmic consequences.

Aalar's chosen are those who wield Aalar's powers at the cost of their sanity. They gain bestial features, and begin to hunt like animals, killing for meat - and sport.

Prerequisite

You must worship Aalar to gain his powers. You must have an Int score of 6 or higher to be a worshiper.

Statistics[edit]

Abilities. The worshipper has 2 of the following abilities:

Keen beast senses. The Chosen has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.

Pounce. If the Chosen moves at least 20 feet straight toward a creature and then hits it with a slashing or bludgeoning attack on the same turn, that target must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. If the target is prone, the Chosen can make one bite against it as a bonus action.

Sure-footed. The Chosen has advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws made against effects that would knock it prone.

Surprising. During its first turn, the Chosen has advantage on attack rolls against any creature that hasn't taken a turn. Any hit the Chosen scores against a surprised creature is a critical hit.

Evasive. If the Chosen is subjected to an effect that allows it to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, the Chosen instead takes no damage if it succeeds on the saving throw, and only half damage if it fails.

Damage Resistances. You gain resistance to necrotic damage.

Condition Immunities. You gain immunity to being stunned and unconscious.

Languages You know Celestial.

Skills You gain double your proficiency bonus in one skill of your choice.

Alignment You are now Neutral Evil.

Actions[edit]

You gain the Bite action. Bite Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d8 + b) piercing damage. This attack can replace any attack in multiattack.

CR Calculation[edit]

Recalculate, as bite adds 12 or more to per-round damage and abilities may be powerful.
