Yami (5e Equipment)

Weapon (any bladed weapon), legendary (Yami chooses its wielder. Anyone unworthy who attempts to pick up the blade takes 8d6 fire damage every minute they possess the blade.)

Not much is known about the Yami enchantment, except that it has been said that it was born out of darkness and therefore was given the name Yami.

If Yami's wielder ever unattunes from Yami, the blade slices into the wielder's abdomen and will forever curse its former wielder. The curse dooms the former user to inevitable death, Decreasing their maximum HP by 10 every Midnight. When the user's HP reaches 0, their body is banished to a realm of darkness with no possible return. The soul left behind would need a new body in order to return to the living.

The blade itself is quite strong, a +3 to attack and damage (in addition to which ever blade it is, DM's discretion), and deals an additional 2d6 of necrotic damage upon a critical hit.

The blade comes with 20 charges, recoverable at every dawn for 1 charge.

For 3 charges cast the spell darkness within 80 feet of you as long as you wield Yami. Concentration not required. Lasts 2 minutes.

For 5 charges, you can shadow step up to 30 feet away. As long as you are in dim light or darkness/shadows and where you are teleporting to is in dim light or darkness/shadows. You must be wielding Yami in order to shadow step.

For 15 charges you allow Yami to be shrouded in black flame. For the next 1 minute, attacks with Yami deal double Necrotic damage.
