Xanaroth is as powerful as he is evil. He once tried to become a God, and he was punished for it. (If used in campaigns, he starts off imprisoned, usually tricking others into freeing him.)
[edit] Dogma
Although he is not a true God, any who worship him as such tend to be evil, sowing the seeds of chaos everywhere. Any deed that can be considered "good" in any way is greatly frowned upon by him, and all 'followers'.
[edit] Imprisonment
Xanaroth is held in a ancient hidden temple, chained with Golden Chains, covered in the most powerful runes, and protected by powerful magic fields. It is strong enough that he cannot escape, and cannot be dispelled. However, he knows the words that can free him from his bonds, but if he speaks them it causes the chains to grip tighter. He has been trying for centuries to trick someone into freeing him, so he may wreak havoc upon the world, and the Gods who imprisoned him.
[edit] Freedom
Upon being freed, Xanaroth will use his Greatsword of Chaos to destroy the material plane before he rises to kill the Gods of other planes. For each being he kills, he absorbs their soul increasing his powers greatly.
