Of all of the common occupations of the D&D world, being a miner is one of the most well known and dangerous. They must get materials from under the earth and fight monsters. They are pressured to become more powerful, and miners are specialized in having a companion for travel, skill bonuses, and other boons..
 Becoming a Miner
Miners are very good at digging through ancient dungeons, and work in any party, supplied basic skills to help in dungeons delves as well as in appraising treasure. They have a decent BaB and saves and an animal companion that helps in adventures.
Abilities: The most important abilities for this class are strength, for fighting and digging, intelligence, for their skills, and constitution, to stay alive longer.
Races: The most common miners include dwarves and kobolds, as well as gnomes. These races are at home in a subterranean enviroment. Other races don't suit this class very well..

 Class Features
All of the following are class features of the Miner:
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Miners are proficient with all simple weapons and all picks and hammers; They are proficient with light and medium armor; They are proficient with shields (but not tower shields).
Blind-Fight: A miner often spends time in the pitch blackness, he gain blind-fight as a bonus feat
Badger Companion (Ex): Lonely days in the tunnels often lend to befriending any living creature around. The miner may begin play with a badger as an animal companion. This functions just like the druid's animal companion, except the only alternative companions the miner may obtain are: dire badger, and wolverine.
Miner's Insight (Ex): The miner's profession lends him to be very knowledgeable in his field. The miner gains a +2 on Appraise and Knowledge (dungeoneering) checks.
Find Treasure (Sp): A miner's natural intuition to finding treasure allows him to detect precious metals and stones within a 20 ft. radius around him. The effect lasts a number of rounds equal to his class level (max 10 rounds)
- 1st Round- The presence is detected
- 2nd Round- The type of a single precious mineral is detected
- 3rd round and up- The location of all types in the vicinity is discovered
At 4th level this ability functions once per day. You can use it one additional for every four levels beyond 4th.
Bonus Feat: A miner may choose from the fighter list of Bonus Feats at this level
Miner's Talent (Ex): The miner's experience leads him to be very best at his job. The miner gains a +2 on all Craft and Profession (miner) checks.
Ruin Explorer (Ex): The miner's time spent trying to decipher ancient writings and move along precarious edges has made him ideal for ruin exploration. The miner gains a +2 on all Balance and Decipher Script checks.

Find Treasure (Ex): Each 3 levels after 20th level the Miner can use this ability extra use in day.
Improved Miner's Talent (Ex): Now the miner gains a +4 on all Craft and Profession (miner) checks.
Ruin Explorer (Ex): Now the miner gains a +4 on all Balance and Decipher Script checks.

 Playing a Miner
Religion: Miners usually venerate their racial gods, or earth gods of their panthoen. IN Greyhawk, common miner deities include Obad-Hai (Neutral and good miners), Garl Glittergold (Good miners) or Kurtulmak (Evil miners).
Other Classes: Miners are accomidating to other classes but can also handle themselves and are very independent.
Combat: Miners usually go to the front lines with a combat oriented companion and a pick.
Advancement: Miners often multiclass with fighters, druids, rangers, or go on to prestige classes like the caver.
