Way of the Sword Sage[edit]

Monks of the sword sage travel the world seeking to subtly guide the universe toward greater virtue and depth by mixing in with it while not being part of it and remaining true to their calling. You have been trained in one of the few temples of the world dedicated to weapon based martial arts. You are trained to blend in with other warriors, and only reveal your true monkish nature in combat when necessary. In your quest for inclusion, you are drawn to this path of engagement, and learn to manifest the energy of your body into the weapons you wield with extraordinary proficiency.

Martial Superiority

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you learn maneuvers that are fueled by your ki.

Maneuvers. You learn three maneuvers of your choice from the Battlemaster maneuver's list. Many maneuvers enhance an attack in some way. You can use only one maneuver per attack. You learn two additional maneuvers of your choice at 6th, 11th, and 17th level. Each time you learn new maneuvers, you can also replace one maneuver you know with a different one.
Converting Ki into Superiority Dice. At the start of your turn, without taking an action, you can convert one or more ki points into superiority dice. You can't have more superiority dice at the same time than your proficiency bonus.
Your superiority die equals your martial arts die.
Saving Throws. Some of your maneuvers require your target to make a saving throw to resist the maneuver's effects. The saving throw DC is calculated as follows:
Maneuver save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Dexterity or Wisdom modifier (your choice).
Insightful Strike

At 6th level, once per turn when a target suffer the effects of a maneuver, you cause additional damage to it equal to your Wisdom modifier.

Maneuver Focus

At 11th level, whenever you finish a long rest, you can choose one maneuver of your choice from your known maneuvers. You can use this without spending superiority die. When you do so, you roll a d6, instead of your martial arts die.

In addition, once per turn when you use your Flurry of Blows, you can use a maneuver without spending superiority dice.

Dual Boost

When you reach the 17th level, you can apply two maneuvers simultaneously as part of the same attack. You can use this feature only once in each turn.
