Geographic Area[edit]

Washim sits on the southern bank of the Sinn Lake where the Way River enters the lake. To the east is the Glory Hole Mines of copper and the Stone Quarry in the Flame Hills. The soil is fertile and good for winter wheat although the region is on the northeastern side of the Red Desert.

Imports, Exports, and Resources[edit]

Washim has abundant natural resources. Washim trades with Taur’res fresh water fish from Sinn Lake, winter wheat, copper, and hard-gray-stone. Taur’res trades silver, and horses and passes resources on from Jodpur, Ajmer, Solapur, and Guntur.

History[edit]

In 220 C.E., the Half-elf Flippen Washim founded the city of Washim. In 247 C.E., the Washim House and Washmin Castle are completed. In 265 C.E., the Full Moon Garden is completed and dedicated to and has a temple to Goddess Phthino, the Autumn Minor Goddess. In 316 C.E. [C.E. is for Common Era], the City of Taur'res is founded by Shaelong the High-Rider of Dragons. In 327 C.E., first public appearance of the twelve Grand Wizards who serve Shaelong. In 330 C.E., He subjugates the Human city of Washim under his authority.

Government[edit]

The King of Washim is Half-elf ranger Casper the Twin Striker. The King has two palaces, one in Taur'res and one in Washim. The king's palace in Washim is known as the Washim House. Within his court is Duke Elshan Moore, Duke Nemausus Welsh, Baron Elwyn Ryath, Baron Glendower Wishmore, Baron Reece Ebrew, and Baron Caddock Fork.

Elshan Moore, a Human paladin, is Duke of Safety Hold. He is accountable to King Casper of Washim. Safety Hold Keep is the castle of Duke Elshan Moore. The castle is a stone fortress with Barbican.

Elwyn Ryath is the Baron of Ryath’s Hold. He is accountable to Duke Elashan Moore and King Casper of Washim. Ryath’s Hold is the keep of Baron Elwyn Ryath. The castle is a stone fortification with Ring Wall and Catapult Towers.

Glendower Wishmore is the Baron of Wishmore. He is accountable to Duke Elashan Moore and King Casper of Washim. Wishmore Castle is the keep of Baron of Glendower Wishmore. The castle is a stone fortification with Curtain Wall and Ballista Towers.

Nemausus Welsh, a Human fighter, is Duke of Nimes Hill. He is accountable to King Casper of Washim. Nimes Hill Keep is the castle of Duke Nemausus Welsh. The castle is a stone fortress with Barbican.

Reece Ebrew is the Baron of Ebrew Hill. He is accountable to Duke Nemausus Welsh and King Casper of Washim. Ebrew Hill is the keep of Baron Reece Ebrew. The castle is a stone fortification with Ring Wall and Catapult Towers.

Caddock Fork is the Baron of Grassy Point. He is accountable to Duke Nemausus Welsh and King Casper of Washim. Grassy Point Castle is the keep of Baron Caddock Fork. The castle is a stone fortification with Curtain Wall and Ballista Towers.

Culture[edit]

The Empire's culture is a melting pot of minor cultures. Primarily, the Empire is a society based on domination and is centered around the Emperor as a victory cult figure. Dorinth is an Empire dominated by Humans but also incorporating Dragonborn, Tiefling, enslaved Dwarves, Goblins, Orcs, and Lizardfolk.

Fashion is silk and cotton pants and shirts with thick wool cloaks in the winter.

Although the basic common language is common, the northern continent has a distinctive accent that is recognizable with a Perception DC 10.

Key Locations

Docks: The weathered wood fresh water docks are on the north side of the city on the lake. The fresh water docks are on the Sinn Lake shore and are home to 70 fishing/transport boats with 7 military boats.

Ebrew Hill is the keep of Baron Reece Ebrew. The castle is a stone fortification with Ring Wall and Catapult Towers.

Elapids Tower is the home and fortress of the Count and headquarters of his Knight Order. Klevin Brave, an Elf fighter, is the Blood Champion and the head of Knight Order. The Tower is also a Wizard School with library and university.

Grassy Point Castle is the keep of Baron Caddock Fork. The castle is a stone fortification with Curtain Wall and Ballista Towers.

Mills and Shops: There are 6 Mills and many Blacksmith's Workshops, Tanner's Workshops, Weaver's Workshops, Granaries, Bakeries, and Breweries.

Nimes Hill Keep is the castle of Duke Nemausus Welsh. The castle is a stone fortress with Barbican.

Outside the hard-gray-stone walls of Washim are lumber camps, houses, fields and farms of apple orchards and vineyards, wheat, corn, oats, and barley with various livestock.

Ryath’s Hold is the keep of Baron Elwyn Ryath. The castle is a stone fortification with Ring Wall and Catapult Towers.

Safety Hold Keep is the castle of Duke Elshan Moore. The castle is a stone fortress with Barbican.

The Full Moon Garden is dedicated to and has a temple to Goddess Phthino, the Autumn Minor Goddess, with 50 clerics.

Toxic Force Tower is the home and fortress of the Count and headquarters of his Knight Order. Eon River, a Human fighter, is the Blood Champion and the head of Knight Order. The Tower is also a Wizard School with library and university.

Wall: Surrounding the city is a twenty-foot-high gray stone wall with three gates to access the outside land around the city. In gray stone is the Washim Castle with a ring wall and four catapult towers.

Institutions & Organizations[edit]

Guilds and Brotherhoods: There are several international organizations that transcend culture and race. The international organizations are very loosely organized. Merchant Guild is an international organization of buyers and seller whose symbol is a stack of coins. Librarian Guild is an international organization of book lovers and organizers (librarians) whose symbol is an open book with a colorful rainbow. Scribe Guild is an international organization of scribes and writers whose symbol is feather pen and unrolled scroll. Thespian Guild of actors, jesters, and bards whose symbol is an Elven ‘Th’ letter. Brotherhood of Smiths is an international organization of metal smith workers whose symbol is two small hammers and an anvil. Brotherhood of Builders is an international organization of stone masons and wood carpenters whose symbol is three straight lines with a vertical tree branch. Brotherhood of Gladiators is an international organization of gladiators whose symbol is a red drop of blood.

Thieves' Guilds: The main thieves' guild is headquartered in Taur'res and has government sponsorship. The main guild is known as The Emperor's Hand. The Emperor's Hand is a thieves' guild, assassin's guild, spy network for Emperor Shaelong, and secret police of the twelve Grand-Wizard Counts.

Wizard Schools: Within the Empire, there are no large organized wizard schools. However, throughout the land are innumerable independent wizard to wizard mentoring and training. Throughout the land are many individual wizard towers who contain powerful wizards and warlocks and their pupils.

Temples and Chapels: The Minor Gods are honored throughout the Empire of Dorinth. Temples exist to Spring Goddess, Summer God, Autumn Goddess, and Winter Goddess. Washim is dedicated to and has a temple to Goddess Phthino, the Autumn Minor Goddess, known as The Full Moon Garden, with 50 clerics.

Army Special Forces: The military uniform colors are mostly red and white trim with a black capital ‘W’. Each Duke and Baron has his own troops, normally named after the keep in which they serve. The city is patrolled by the Town Militia 100 men along with 480 soldiers (a Cohorts included 6 centuriae or a total of 480 fighting men).

Washim Warriors of 500 soldiers (a Cohorts included 6 centuriae or a total of 480 fighting men) are multipurpose troops in chainmail, short bow, and short swords. The Washim Warriors have six Centurions [insignia of four feathers on a copper circle with silver perimeter] and one commanding Legatus Legionis (the overall Legionary commander whose insignia is of an attacking hawk on a gold circle). Legatus Legionis Hans Corkmen is the leader of the Washim Warriors.

Knight Orders:

Count Agony is one of the twelve Soul-Killer-Grand-Wizard Dukes, who are part of the Council of Victory that advices the Emperor. Each of the twelve Grand Wizard Dukes has its own Knight Order (available to heavy-armored cavalry, paladins, fighters, warlords). Each Knight Order is a cult of victory, so that, the most victorious fighter is head of the Knight Order and leadership is determined through trial-by-combat. This Count’s Knight Order is the Elapids. Elapids Tower is the home and fortress of the Count and headquarters of his Knight Order. Klevin Brave, an Elf fighter, is the Blood Champion and the head of Knight Order. The Tower is also a Wizard School with library and university.
