Divine Ranks Ladder

Lesser Divinities → Half-Gods → Deities → Gods → Overgods → Demiurges

Divine Ranks Short Summary

Lesser Divinities: are lesser spirit, good examples of this are nymphs or some ascended heroes like lesser saints. They are not strong enough to grant any spell but are considered immortals. There are mostly herald or servant of more powerful deities or gods. Angel are good example of lesser divinities. Lesser divinities are rarely independent, their supernatural power depend on their patron deity.

Half-Gods: are divinities to a lesser extend than deity, they are mostly worship in general cult or have a more heroic, cultural and symbolic meaning than pure divine worship. They are much more powerful than common mortal or even lesser divinities. A good example of half-god is a common seraphim or greater saints, powerful and widely accepted as powerful and even sometime the object of worship of some communities.

Deities: are completely divine, they still have a mortal-like personality. They have full power divine powers and are mostly independent. They mostly like greek deities or standard d&d deities.

Gods: Gods are more powerful than deities, they are often pantheon chief or the god of monotheistic religion. Their power can reach what common deity can't. Most of gods have no mortal traits and are difficult to understand. Their motive are totally alien to mortal and thus worshipper feel less in contact with them. Only Gods can grant high divine magic.

Overgods: Overgods are guardian of the multiverse, they are not worshipped nor they answer any prayers or grant any spell. They keep deities and gods in line and make sure nothing bad happen. There is very few overgods in the multiverse. Mortal can barely understand their motive. They have nothing of a mortal, not any mind traits.

Demiurges: The supreme deities, they are part of the multiverse itself. They are the great architect, existing before time, even before existence, The very concept of their existence is impossible to understand, even gods are puzzled with these entities. They have the most alien mind and their motive are unknowable (some say they don't even have motive), not only they don't care about mortal but they also have no interest in gods even overgods.
