Flower Nymph (5e race)[edit]

Physical Description[edit]

Similar in build to female elves, with elven ears and skin tones, but are about a foot shorter on average. They tend to be as beautiful as nymphs, but not as blinding. In addition, their hair color is always the same: white with light green tips on new hair, similar to the growth of new leaves. However, their eyes can be just about any color on the spectrum. Attached to their body, they have a type of plant or flower that they imprint on and derive their inherent magic from, which greatly affects their magical abilities. Unlike most other Medium-sized fey, they feature wings which allow them to hover and fly for very short distances. These wings have a similar range in appearance to pixies and sprites; like butterfly, dragonfly, and moth wings.

Society and Culture[edit]

They live almost exclusively in forests. As curious and charming creatures, they are often aware of the existence of humans and other adventurers (typical PC/humanoid races). However, most of their cultural knowledge comes from those most familiar with the fey and the forests in which they inhabit- druids. Some have been known to take up the practices of spellcrafting and medicine, inspired by those who often commune with them. Less commonly, they have been influenced by other adventurer types, but are often wary of them, due to their violent natures (towards the forests in particular). If they are any class, they are druids. Each nymph's coming-of-age occurs when they find their Spirit Flower that they choose to become a physical and magical part of, where they call upon the powers of said plant to use their typical magic. Since they have such a close connection to the flowers in question, they will be deeply reluctant to harm or consume their chosen plant. They guard their Spirit Flowers loyally, and in return, the plant provides them power. Due to being fey, they can't use anything with iron and generally do not use any metals (especially silver ones!) for this reason. They see it as a work of human(-oid?) society which they do not care for. They are curious enough to investigate metallic coins and other objects (so long as they are not silver in appearance), but it is rare to find in their forests.

Personality[edit]

The personality of a nymph is a reflection of nature. Nymphs are mercurial creatures who may act with kindness, but are also quick to strike against those who tread on nature by acting greedily or thoughtlessly. As caretakers of the woods, they favor deep forests and often shun the other races. However, due to their playfulness, curiosity and carefree nature, the strongly individual nymph can be found all over supporting a wide variety of different causes.

When you reach 5th level, you can cast the suggestion or enthrall spells once with this trait and you regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells. If the target is not attracted to females, or is a child, the spell fails
