Tribes (Dawn of Civilization Supplement)
From D&D Wiki
[edit] Tribes
To construct your tribe, you need to determine the location of said tribe;
Coastal
A coastal tribe exists, as the name suggests, along a coast. It can either be on a river, a sea, a lake, or any other water source. Being on a beach has both benefits and drawbacks. On an ocean, fresh water is hard to come by, being at -5% likelihood of being within 50 square miles. Fish, however, are at +10%, and, with the fire technology, a coastal tribe has access to glass.
The following technologies are automatic for coastal tribes;
The following skills are always class skills for coastal tribes;
Mountains
A tribe in the mountains is at +15% of finding metal, which becomes very important very quickly. However, fertile land is at a -20%, and seeds are at a -10%. As a result of this, the people of the mountains are heartier, with a +2 Constitution score, but this build up of fat reserves renders a -2 Dexterity penalty.
