[edit] Description

The Jester is very new deity despite his rank, and in mortal life he was a rogue despite his bard-like name. In his many adventures he developed a goal; make the best thieves guild in the multiverse. He finally succeeded in this goal, creating a huge fortress in the middle of limbo, creating gates to limbo from the material plane with thieves set up at every gate, robbing every "visiter", than erasing the memory of the event. Strangely, even the poorest victims thrived later in life, which made the Jester conclude that perfection can only be achieved through imperfection. Using this knowledge, (and lots of self cursing,) The Jester achieved deity-hood, and even then zipped through the first few ranks. Many older deities are jealous, and mischievous deities are actually proud of him come up with a "scam" of this level. The Jester still leads the thieves guild posing as a mortal, and due to the necessity of keeping the guild secret, few mortals know of his existence.

[edit] Dogma

The Jester encourages trickery, and cleverness in any form highly encouraged. As an ex adventuring rogue he prefers good over evil, but will only actively work towards good if he can get a good laugh. (If he sees a noble harming a beggar, he would make them switch bodies, not put the noble in jail.) His followers usually follow his lead and uses curses in this way. There is some confusion in his messages, sometimes The Jester wants some fun, while the follower wants to "imperfect" him for the better good, and vice versa.

[edit] Clergy and Temples

The Jesters clerics, the few that know of his existence, and his deity-hood, are also also called "Imperfectionists." These individuals receive heavy bonuses for cursing themselves, others, or objects. These clerics almost always carry cursed items with horrible drawbacks that affect just about anyone that's not them. These clerics lie low, "imperfecting" from the background, and don't convert others in fear of exposing the thieves guild. Most of the Imperfectionists look like everyday rogues or traveling bards. The few clerics worship alone sustains the Jester due to their near perfect state. The only places of worship for the Jester can be found in parts of the thieves guild fortress in Limbo.

[edit] Pantheon

The Jester has not yet joined a pantheon, but hopes to create one centered around Limbo.
