Talosoi[edit]

An apelike race of people, they are known for their strict adherence to freedom and their giant wasp battle-mounts.

Ability Scores: +2 Strength, +2 Constitution
Size: Medium
Speed: 6 squares
Vision: Normal
Languages: Common, Giant
Skill Bonuses: +2 Athletics, +2 Acrobatics, +2 Itimidate, -2 Diplomacy
Oversized: You can use weapons of your size or one size larger normally, as if they were your size.
Talosoin Reflexes: You gain a +2 to attack rolls and damage rolls made against targets due to oppurtunity attacks.
Warrior's Surge: You may use warrior's surge as an encounter power.

Talosoi inhabit the deep, thick Southern Jungles. Born to fight, Talosoi believe in freedom to the extreme. They would rather fight to the death than live with the slightest form of government any more restricting than the loose, nomadic clan system they live in now.

Play a talosoi if you want...

  • to look like an ape or gorilla.
  • to be as tough as the jungles you live in.
  • to have the chance to ride a giant wasp mount into a battle for your freedom.
  • To be a member of a race that favours the fighter, barbarian, and druid classes.

Physical Qualities[edit]

Talosoi look like gorillas. They have thick, deep black, short (one-inch long) hair covering the whole of their bodies, except for their faces, chests, palms, and the soles of their feet, reavealing their gray-ish skin. They stand taller than the average man, and are very broad and muscular. They have especially pronounced cainines, and exceptionally large hands and feet.

Playing a Talosoi[edit]

Talosoi live to be free. Living in a loose, nomadic clan system encourages this somewhat. Primarily hunters and gatherers, Talosoi are not above defending their territory with bloodshed. Talosoin life, to a "civilized" human, is crude and barbaric.

The talosoi have some allies and enemies. For allies, the eladrin and elves who live in the Southern Jungles will usually at least keep an eye pointed in their direction, helping them if need be. Yuan-ti are the talosoi's only main threats, who inhabit the same places the talosoi do. Talosoi will almost always attack yuan-ti on sight, unless they are hopelessly outnumbered. The same goes for the yuan-ti.

Talosoi Characteristics: Free, wild, barbaric, cunning, rebellious, territotial, bold, brave, vengeful, honor-bound.

Male Names: Tash, Torok, Runsh, Reil, Looak, Dunkar

Female Names: Dunka, Taile, Sofely, Raodng, Ereou

Talosoi Adventurers[edit]

Tash is a talosoin fighter, ready to die for his clan's freedom. He rides a wasp mount, called Okenur, into battle against the evil yuan-ti. He hopes one day maybe he will be the clan's chieftan, but for now he fights for freedom, not leading the clan.

Taile is a talosion druid, lifting the clan of injury and disease. The whole of the clan leans on her in times of peace, and times of war. In combat, she stays back to support the archers. One day, she hopes to be the head shamaness, but for now she is still a lowly apprentice.
