[edit] About this idea

Hello. I think this is a good idea, until people start getting pissed off that we did not get permission. So, if we want to add any races, then we need to get permission from that author. So, get permission before adding any. Also, these races need to be on the main 3.5e Races page, and here. If you will notice 3.5e Races should have ALL the races on D&D Wiki, they should not be spread throughout hard to find pages. I hope this helps, and I will begin to get permission from people. Also, as soon as I do have permission from someone I will say it on this discussion so anyone can add that authors material to D&D Wiki. --Green Dragon 12:45, 9 June 2006 (MDT)

Probably would be a better idea to write it on the main page, so that other personnel could help make this quicker. --Pz.Az.04Maus 13:11, 9 June 2006 (MDT)
Gotcha' on where the races should be as well. --Pz.Az.04Maus 13:17, 9 June 2006 (MDT)
Hehe, I'm kinda breaking someones back, but I take full responsibility. However, I will try to ask for permission for all new additions. If I break a rule, it wasn't your fault, it was me and my idea. On another note, I'm getting wee bit paranoid about Pissed off D&D Forums people... Just thinking, that's all. *Imagines an entire D&D Angry mob Dice-stoning me to death.* --Pz.Az.04Maus 13:10, 9 June 2006 (MDT)

[edit] Watch out for how large this is

Watch out for how large this page is, browsers will not be able to save it well. Also, I will recommend that you break it up so each "contributor" has their own page, it would work well and it would make it so the browser can edit the main page (this one) and all of theirs, and thez will not be to large to work with. Make them named something like R.M.G.C.L.F.'s WFRC Races (WFRC Supplement). WFRC stands for Wizards Forums Races Compenduim. Just an idea, what do you think? --Green Dragon 13:01, 21 June 2006 (MDT)

*Pz.Az.04Maüs Jumps up and down in Glee!!!* Perfect name!!! Agreeable with the making individual pages for each person (Perhaps grouping very small ones as well...). --Pz.Az.04Maus 13:12, 21 June 2006 (MDT)
Cool.... I will quickly to R.M.G.C.L.F.'s one... Although, to give each user credit I think that we need a seperate page for every single contributor. What do you think? --Green Dragon 03:41, 24 June 2006 (MDT)
Is it good? this is kinda your idea so I dont want to take it over... Is this good like this? I did some more... so? --Green Dragon 07:23, 28 June 2006 (MDT)

[edit] Need Help with this

I was wondering if someone could complete the "WFRC Contributers/Contacts" table, I just dont have the time in Germany. If you could, I would be more than happy. Anyone? --Green Dragon 12:27, 4 July 2006 (MDT)

Since I'm the guy who basically started this movement, I guess it's up to me... --Pz.Az.04Maus 14:52, 4 July 2006 (MDT)
Well, looks like someone beat me to the punch a bit more than I did... ^__^ --Pz.Az.04Maus 22:38, 4 July 2006 (MDT)
Well... Still more needs to be done, hope you can get around to it. --Green Dragon 03:10, 9 July 2006 (MDT)
this is quite the large project you guys threw on yourselves... *grabs his shovel* looks like i need to dig you's out... I throw in my helping hand and i will contact, and post as much information as i can. i mean it has been 2 years and your no where near done--Cerin616, Drew 15:34, 17 January 2008 (MST)

[edit] Some Problems with Formatting

So, these are just some things that are begin done wrong..

  1. No need for (EST) seeing that there is no time when they were contaced on the list.
  2. Aramar the Black please make your name into a link so people can know who you are...
  3. People's races pages are beign done completely wrong, please look at Blood of the ancient's page and try to model them after that.
  4. To make the table smaller (smaller moniters can see it all in one line) put 'PM' instead of 'Private Message'.
  5. The names of the people supplying the races need only to be bold, not also italic (Get rid of two of the ' ' in front of and behind the names of the people supplying the races).
  6. Races that are added do not need the 'Created By' box, seeing that the author does not have a user page on D&D Wiki, what they need is something like this: '''Author:''' blood of the ancient .
  7. All races added from the WFRC need to be part of the Category:New Races Compendium (Forum).

That is all I can think of right now, if I see more I will put them here, but could anyone fix these problems please? --Green Dragon 03:17, 9 July 2006 (MDT)

[edit] New WFRC on Wizards?

Tell me what you think of this, the beginning of a new WFRC. --Green Dragon 23:48, 16 August 2006 (MDT)

[edit] What do the PM's you send to people say?

I am just curious, what do the PM's you guys (Aramar the Black in particular) send to the WFRC Contributors? I might want to start sending some PM's, but do not want to forget to put something in them. What would a typical PM say? --Green Dragon 22:06, 31 August 2006 (MDT)

I usually say something along these lines, with exact wording changing occasionally:
Greetings.
I am part of project for conserving the New Race compendium, and would like to ask you a couple questions:
1. May we add your (Race(s) here) to the compendium on D&D Wiki?
2. Should we move the race(s), would you allow others to edit and modify the race, effectively making it so people can improve your race, or would you rather it remain as it is, with no editing?
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Follow the link in my signature if you would like to visit the Wiki.
Thank you for your time.
Aramar the Black or Green Dragon
--Aramar the Black 15:58, 3 September 2006 (CST)
Thank you very much for putting what you say here, I soon will ask a couple people for permission to put their race on D&D Wiki. One more question: What do you tell someone when their race is completely added to D&D Wiki (Step 5)? Anyway, thanks for the help so far. --Green Dragon 17:52, 4 September 2006 (MDT)
Thanks again for allowing your races to be moved to the D&D Wiki. If you wish to see the race, and see that everything is to your satisfaction, you may follow the link here.
(This is how I usually go about it. The last word, "here" is always a link to the race itself, or the page of the creator; i.e. "Kkat's WFRC Races") --Aramar the Black 19:30. 4 September 2006 (CST)
Thanks again for telling me what you write, and I will start asking people soon... Thanks for the help. --Green Dragon 23:22, 4 September 2006 (MDT)

Minor Rewording (For Myself when I copy what to say from here):

If their race was deleted from the forums:

Title: Your Races were Deleted from the Forums

I am sorry to inform you, but the race(s); ****INSERT NAMES OF RACES THAT WERE DELETED FROM MESSAGE BOARDS**** you allowed D&D Wiki to copy were deleted from the Wizards Message Boards. So, if you still have a copy of the race(s) stored somewhere on your computer, I would be very pleased if you could send them to me via PM, email (great.wyrm.green.dragon@gmail.com), or whatever is best for you. I am very sorry this happened.

Thanks, and I hope this is not too much of a problem,

I am going to finish this project, ill re contact as many people as i can, and i will finish any pages that are not done, but I cannot lock pages. Instead of annoying all of you to death, i am just changing sections that need locking to red. --Cerin616, Drew 16:55, 23 January 2008 (MST)

Optionally feel free to just MoI me the locked page and I will lock it up. Also, thank you so much for working on this! --Green Dragon 22:45, 23 January 2008 (MST)
