On Creating a Spartan II[edit]

I wonder whenever if the fortitude rolls should be as hard as they're portrayed. While less than a half of the original SPARTAN-II trainees survived without complications, the SPARTAN-III of Ghosts of Onyx managed to get a 100% survival rate with the augmentations (And there were 300 trainees per company), based on Ackerson's espionage about Halsey's findings and mistakes in her project.

Gameplay-wise, I realize it's logical to only let epic-level characters attempt to become SPARTAN-II's, but given the canon updates we've been receiving lately...

alignment[edit]

I think Lawful Neutral would be more appropriate. -TantaClaus

I agree with idea that the alignment enforcement is wrong, but I don't think LN would be any better. The Spartans are as they are because they've been trained by the military since age five or so, not because they were subjected to the change-inducing chemicals. I also think the base land speed could be higher. Something about darkvision or lowlight vision seems appropriate, too. Jota 00:47, 9 January 2009 (MST)
They were trained since age six but that just affects their levels. Do you know the reason MJOLNIR armor isn't mass produced? Or at least a slightly less expensive version? It's because the armor will snap the limbs of anyone without Titanium bone grafts with the sheer force that it adds to the slightest movement. Spartans did have the ability drugs. It was in the Halo novels. However the low-light vision part makes sense but the darkvision doesn't. Why would he have a flashlight installed if he could see perfectly in the dark? --Owen 22:49, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

Spartan LA and CR increase[edit]

What LA and CR increase should these have? --Sam Kay 03:27, 20 December 2007 (MST)

+3? --Green Dragon 22:03, 20 December 2007 (MST)
Yeah, that seems good... --Sam Kay 04:33, 21 December 2007 (MST)

I think they should also have +2 WIS considering they were said to demonstrate increased creativity.

Armor/Motion Sensor?[edit]

Making the armor permanent doesn't seem right to me, wouldn't it make more sense to have it simply take a long amount of time to take it on and off? Then add a feat to be able to don it more quickly. Additionally it would require proficiency that only the template added, or suffer a certain amount of damage each turn using it.

Also for the motion sensor it might make sense to put a speed at which things can move without it being picked up, say 10 feet or so?

I have read the Halo books. The armor is pretty much jacked up to their brain. It's simply too dangerous for Spartans to remove the armor without mechanical asistance.--Owen 22:50, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
