Already Exists[edit]

This item already exists in the SRD. I'd delete this. --Aarnott 13:41, 19 April 2007 (MDT)

However, this item is better than the SRD Ring of Sustenance as this requires no sleep compared to 2 hours... Maybe if A) Someone was willing to adopt this and B) It was made into "Ring of Sustenance, Greater" I think it would be okay to keep. What do you think? --Green Dragon 16:50, 19 April 2007 (MDT)
I rewrote the article; I think it looks more like a Greater Ring of Sustenance now.--Rakankou 09:23, 22 April 2007 (MDT)
Thanks for re-writing this, it is a lot better now. --Green Dragon 12:37, 22 April 2007 (MDT)

Balance[edit]

What do you guys think about the balance of this item? --Green Dragon 12:38, 22 April 2007 (MDT)

I feel an item like this one is probably very overpowered for the rather conservative price tag I assigned it. It seems to me that, with the raw potential this ring has, it should be more or less inaccessable until the higher levels. Rather than skim through my DMG and throw a tougher price on it myself, however, I think it may be a good idea to let someone else take a look at it (fresh eyes and all) to see if my thoughts hit the mark.--Rakankou 18:39, 23 April 2007 (MDT)
You sure are right about it being overpowered. Recharging spells might be an epic thing. Even then... I'm just thinking that in a lot of dungeons my players delve into they have to rest for an hour or so after battles (for heal checks, searching rooms, etc). Sometimes they get attacked in that time, but a lot of the time, they find a safe room to do so. A spellcaster getting back all their spells in this time would really make dungeons more trivial. I'd go with an epic price tag. --Aarnott 09:55, 24 April 2007 (MDT)
I agree, this should be epic. So, would you mind changing this to epic (Changing the price, location, etc)? --Green Dragon 10:01, 24 April 2007 (MDT)
I figured that it would be best to continue with the cost progression of the Rings of Epic Wizardry. The 9th level one doubles all your spells of 9th level. This doubles all your spells in general (with study time needed). For that reason I figured it would be a step of from Epic Wizardry IX. This ended up being exactly 1,000,000 (if you follow the cost progression pattern). --Aarnott 10:14, 24 April 2007 (MDT)
I agree, it looks much more balanced now. I am very happy how this is coming along, and I am glad that this is not 5,000gp anymore. Now this item will not overpower a campaign with D&D Wiki at fault :). Thanks. --Green Dragon 10:23, 24 April 2007 (MDT)
