Talk:Races (Aëthár Soul of the Blade Supplement)
From D&D Wiki
It's pretty clever the way you have the quotes set up. With that said, it's "eternity" and "eternal", not eturnity and eturnal. I can't change it because of the way the code was made (I think). --Ramses IV 08:22, 5 January 2008 (MST)
- It's a template. See Template:Aënál; Soul of the Blade Quotes. --Sam Kay 08:30, 5 January 2008 (MST)

 Racial Traits
Use the racial traits presented [[|here]] for this race. There are no modifacations to these racial traits in the Aënál; Soul of the Blade Campaign Setting.
Why are the Alignments for certain races fixed? (Elves, Goblins, etc.) I do not usually play these races differnetly than you do, but I believe other gamers would want that option. Also, could Elves have a Charisma bonus? --Sir Milo Teabag 14:36, 7 April 2008 (MDT)
- See this; "There is one exception to this rule; if a player can think of a plausable reason that a character is of a restricted alignment (like an elf being possesssed by a daemon), then his character may break this rule, with the dungeon masters permission.". The general reasons behind restricted alignment is partly due to divine intervention (orcs are forced into evil by daemons), partly due to innate causes (due to the way the race was created), like elves (who are an embodiment of good), and also to prevent players bein g stupid with race choice ("I'm a good orc." "why is your orc good?" "'cos I said so."). You could play a good orc, but you'd have to come up with a good reason for it first, like "my elf is possessed by a daemon lord, and that is why he is evil".
- Elves and a charisma bonus? I'd love to do that, but it isn't really possible in 3e without applying an LA. However, in 4e, I plan on using a modified version of the regions system that would allow elves to change their +2 wisdom bonus (that they get in 4e) to a charisma bonus... --Sam Kay 09:42, 8 April 2008 (MDT)
- Thank you for that. You have very good points. --Sir Milo Teabag 06:34, 16 April 2008 (MDT)
