Don't you think this class might be a little overpowered? I mean, it's a psion with higher BAB, hit die, better saves, and free feats that would make any psychic class stronger. You may argue that the beast doesn't recieve the psion discipline powers, but they're all really fair game due to Expanded Knowledge, or that the beast doesn't recieve the bonus feats, but I must say that most of the feats you have listed that the beast recieves are ones I'd select for a psion anyways. → Rith (talk) 13:57, 31 January 2009 (MST)
- You have a point. I just showed a friend and he told me to at least take off the Toughness feats. I kinda have to agree. I just made this last night so it is probably overpowered.
- Improved, I just took off the Toughness feats, now Psionic Talent and Psionic Body are the only "freebe" feats.
- Those and overchannel, but yeah, that looks a lot better, especially after taking off that part about the psion disciplines (I actually missed that part my first time reading it through), but I say it might still be a bit too strong. My advice would be to give it only one good save, lower its HD to d4, or lower the base attack bonus to .5 of the characters hit die (like the wizard) instead of .75 of the characters hit die (like the rogue), since the name is psionic beast (and that implies the ability to hold it's own in battle), I'd say go with the "only one good save" path, but it would still need a little extra toning down even then. Well, try taking away some power points or powers known per level, considering that the powers they do know are going to be able to pack a punch with those remaining "freebe" feats still in place. - Hmmm, well, you actually kinda went another direction than I was actually thinking (while this way is actually fine, it would be able to hold it's own in a battle) Since it gains the ability to overchannel powers without having to take the feat, don't you think he'd need a few extra power points so that he wouldn't run out too soon, I would personally have him gain a power known once a level and skip levels 5, 10, 15 and 20, but give him a surplus of power points, though the way you have it now is still balanced enough for play.
