Weapon Sizes[edit]

Why did you put 2 seperate tables for small and medium size? The small size of a weapon is just 1 damage die lower than the orginal for medium. Also, the "medium" sized one does to much damage for a one-handed weapon and the Two-Handed One also does too much damage. --Watsyurname529 11:52, 27 October 2007 (MDT)

Wait, I get it (sorta). You have a Light, One-Handed, and Two-Handed version of each. Okay, that makes more sense, but they are all still too powerful and no mundane D&D 3.X Weapons have a +X Bonus on damage. --Watsyurname529 11:55, 27 October 2007 (MDT)
Yep. The +2 is not the weapon- it is a bonus from being made out of Obsidian (see the description of obsidian- there is a link on the page). Obsidian, being volcanic glass is considerably sharper and lighter than steel, (and is just as hard) but is easier to break, and thus has less Hit Points per inch of thickness (in fact, they have been known to decapitate horses in a single blow!). However, being large and crude, they are difficut to use, so they suffer a penalty to use, and are not easily able to penetrate steel armour (See description of obsidian). It does work out that the Macuahuitl are a bit better than a sword, but they wont last long because of the obsidian blades. --Sam Kay 06:39, 28 October 2007 (MDT)
Okay then, that makes more sense. --Watsyurname529 07:22, 28 October 2007 (MDT)

Weapon Descritions[edit]

This needs to be added to Weapon Descriptions since this is mundane. Would you mind doing this? --Green Dragon 22:00, 30 October 2007 (MDT)

Oops, I forgot. Perhaps it would be easier to automate this? --Sam Kay 11:28, 2 November 2007 (MDT)
It would, you are right. If you have time, please make this a dplc environment! --Green Dragon 23:20, 5 November 2007 (MST)
I have had a go, and I am stumped. No idea how to do a dlpc table... Do you think you could do it? --Sam Kay 12:59, 7 November 2007 (MST)
If I had more time I would... Sorry. As a side comment, if you want to learn how dpl's, and dplc's better work you should check out the prestige classes as they have the most integrated systems. Hope this helps. --Green Dragon 21:54, 7 November 2007 (MST)

Weapon Playability Changes[edit]

The concept of a weapon that both takes advantage of the obsidian quality and can deal lethal and nonlethal damage is great. Having to maintain two sets of dice for damage is not great, and the original additional weapon damage of obsidian was very unpleasant at the table.

Actions: condensed damage so that the weapon does lethal slashing or non-lethal bludgeoning of the same amount, remove damage modifier and use new obsidian mechanic. Decreased weapon damage to be in line with similar weapons. The new additional slashing damage caused by the obsidian quality offsets this drop in weapon damage, and it should be much easier in play. --Roszlishan 13:19, 1 December 2007 (MST)

Recent Edits and Weapon Descriptions[edit]

Remember, any changes to this weapon need to also be reflected on Weapon Descriptions... --Green Dragon 01:57, 31 January 2008 (MST)
