Talk:Lighting Sh*t on Fire; Pt 2
From D&D Wiki
This build requires applying metamagic to a spell it doesn't qualify for. I'm not sure it's really an optimized build if you have to break a rule to do it.
Clarify what is happening with "get your strength up to +4 at the next ability score increase, and that is possible with some simple magic weapons"? At 7th level you might have a +3 weapon, if you're lucky, but a +1 or +2 is more likely, which is meant?
How does it compare to the cantrip fire bolt instead?
- 2d10 (base) + 4 (warlock path)
- twinned (1 sorcery point): running total is 4d10 + 8
- do it again (1 sorcery point, action surge), 8d10 + 16
- bonus action, quickened (2 sorcery points) , 10d10 + 24
That's an average of 79 damage, and you don't have to cheat, or optimize Strength, and is ranged. Marasmusine (talk) 16:33, 8 December 2016 (MST)
