Requirements[edit]

Normally it is not good to have ability scores in the prerequisites. They should be changed to something that makes the person need to have that ability score via feats or what not. --Green Dragon 19:08, 17 April 2007 (MDT)

I changed the Int and Dex requirements to feats that have those requirements as prereqs. Any better? -- SkredlitheOgre 07:12, 21 April 2007
Though there's no hard rule for it, it's general practice that ability score prerequisites for feats be odd numbered, not even. —Sledged (talk) 08:36, 21 April 2007 (MDT)

I think the requirements look much better for this prestige class now, even though there is an even number of feats, however good work. --Green Dragon 22:27, 23 April 2007 (MDT)

Trapmaking[edit]

Why are do the improvised traps have a lower CR than their regular counterparts? Do they do less damage? Is the save DC lower? Are they easier to find? Are they easier to disable? —Sledged (talk) 11:08, 30 April 2007 (MDT)

"The DC of this trap is one-half the DC of the regular trap (rounded up)." Except the rest of the discussion makes it sound like that was meant to be CR rather than DC, so I'm not sure. –Cúthalion (talk) 11:48, 30 April 2007 (MDT)
Ah, yes. I misread it. let me rephrase the question: Shouldn't the CR of the trap be lowered because of the lower DC? Also, unless the DC refers to the Search and Disable Device DCs, improvised traps with attack bonuses instead of a save DC should have the attack bonus lowered, too. —Sledged (talk) 12:00, 30 April 2007 (MDT)
My bad. I actually meant the CR of the traps, not the DC. I'll fix that. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by SkredlitheOgre (talkcontribs) 16:30, 30 April 2007 (MDT). Please sign your posts.
Then that brings me back to my original question: Why is the CR lower? If it does the same damage, has the same DCs and attack bonuses as the regular counterpart, shouldn't it have the same CR? —Sledged (talk) 18:57, 30 April 2007 (MDT)
Oh. Good point. What if it were changed to "The DC of all improvised traps is equal to the DC of the regular trap -2 (minimum 1)"? --SkredlitheOgre 20:22, 30 April 2007
I'd apply that to all the DCs (Search, Disable Device, and save), and attack bonuses. —Sledged (talk) 10:04, 1 May 2007 (MDT)
Done. --StO 21:54, 2 May 2007
Now there is just the matter of making the sample NPC meet the requirements. —Sledged (talk) 12:50, 4 May 2007 (MDT)
