Talk:Fear of Starvation (3.5e Flaw)

Seems extra-useful for druids and such. Theyll probably have lots of "edible" things. Define "edible?" --Othtim 10:38, 17 September 2008 (MDT)

I'll also add in that foods may be more nutritious and concentrated, so weight is probably a bad measure, i like meals beter122.111.176.248 09:30, 18 September 2008 (MDT)

[edit] No need to eat

What if you don't need to eat / are immune to starvation? This flaw isn't nearly generic enough to be good for the game. Surgo 12:03, 17 September 2008 (MDT)

You could just put in a requirement that you must require regular sustenance to use the flaw. --Othtim 12:44, 17 September 2008 (MDT)
And then what happens when that requirement gets lost? Surgo 12:50, 17 September 2008 (MDT)
When you lose the pre-reqs of a flaw, you lose it's benefit, which means an extra feat. Same goes for any flaw, if a blind man gains his eyes back, an armless man gets regenerated, etc. -- Eiji 20:00, 17 September 2008 (MDT)
Is this actually covered by an official rule? I don't think any of the official flaws had prereqs or were anything of this sort. Surgo 21:05, 17 September 2008 (MDT)
I know it is somewhere. There's of course the general rule on feats that, if you lose pre-reqs, you lose the benefits. I swear there's a specific mention of flaws doing the same, but I can't seem to find it right now, probably buried in the UA. Anyways, prescience alone should be enough, plus it makes sense. -- Eiji 22:28, 17 September 2008 (MDT)
Flaws do not have prerequisites, but instead you can 'build in' a clause that that states whatever you want it to state. There are also "Special" parts of a flaw which state restrictions, like "Pathetic" has a Special Clause: "You cannot take this flaw if the total of your ability modifiers is 8 or higher". On the Feats note, Page 87 of the PHB states you lose the feat bonuses if you lose the pre-reqs. --TK-Squared 15:18, 18 September 2008 (MDT)
