Rating[edit]

Power - 4/5 I give this class a 4 out of 5 because the class is the most use full class out there with a full assortment of party members --Ardoon 18:05, 20 December 2008 (MST)

Flavour[edit]

The class features are pretty interesting, but as an ex-farm kid, I can tell this most likely was written by a city dweller, judging by the wording. I'm not insulted, but neither am I surprised people still resort to stereotypes in this day and age. That said, it is worth a good chuckle. -- Mythos 19:17, 30 June 2009 (MDT)

Oh for sure. XD Not to be taken seriously, it's totally a stereotype. Next up, the Gangsta Rappist Bard variant. They get a bling bling mount with spinnaz! -- Eiji 22:04, 30 June 2009 (MDT)

Good Lord... XD -- Mythos 10:19, 2 July 2009 (MDT)

Something doesn't seem right...[edit]

Why is Handle Animal not a class skill for the Farmer? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.76.76.162 (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts.

That is a very valid point. Looking at the class features, most don't actually make any sense in regards to this class. Perhaps the author copy-pasted the code and just missed altering the class skills?   Hooper   talk    contribs    email   12:39, 20 September 2009 (MDT)

Possible April Fools category material?[edit]

I don't know, it just looks like this wouldn't be a very seriously-taken player class. It'd be a very humorous encounter, as well as a good potential ally in the event there's a fight on a farm, but a PC? With abilities like that? Doesn't sound like my players'll take a guy playing a farmer seriously. --PokeDM

Balance - 0/5 I give this class a 0 out of 5 because the saves bonuses have too many points. 2 at 1st level, 24 at 20th level (I know it's based on Druid, but it has none of the other limitations of the druid, and it has most of the benefits of a fighter, mage, healer and paladin on top, also with next to zero drawaback). Saves would probably have low will save (since lacking booksmarts/arcana training) but high fort save (farm smells are one thing, mind flayers are another). Reflex in the middle. 8 skills +INT mod is way too many. Too many class features/feats/abilities (it's clear from other text, such as the ability to get the Landlord feat, that regular feats are still part of character, too - that's massively powerful). Really, a weapon specialization for EVERY AVAILABLE WEAPON? Also, there should be a class mod, perhaps +2 CON, -2 KNO, (to match flavor) and a level adjustment perhaps (probably +6 or so as the character stands now)

Wording - 4/5 I give this class a 4 out of 5 because most of the stuff is well written. 'Weather' instead of 'whether,' for example. Eberron. Most things make sense, there's just way too many of them.

Formatting - 3/5 I give this class a 3 out of 5 because it has few dividers or links, not much bold, etc etc etc.

Flavor - 3/5 I give this class a 3 out of 5 because more than anything, it's a conflicted class. What makes a harvester get crazy weapons bonuses? Why does he get CHA saves to everything after a certain level when it's clear he hates charismatic people? How can he possibly have a decent charisma when he should logically be taking a negative to it in most instances (dirt farmers aren't exactly clean; speech impediment; stubborn, callous, brash, dim; illogical phobia[aliens]). Also, what's with the aliens? Do you mean extra-planar things; or do you mean creatures that somehow are from trillions of miles away, and instead of using a dimension door or shadow walk or something, decide it's best to travel many lifetimes just to harass people who weren't alive when they left home, instead of attempting to set up trade routes? And only one class, of the hundreds of classes of characters, even think about these people? It's kinda hard to write in aliens as a logical thing when there's doors to literal dimensions of imps that aren't that specific in their troublemaking...

Yeah, I know it's a joke class, but I think there's some real potential here.

How can reflex "be in the middle"? Saves are either good or poor. Also, will isn't linked to booksmarts/arcana - it's to do with self-control and self-discipline - and the Farmer is stubborn. Having said that, to me this feels like it should be a single-good-save class. Marasmusine (talk) 00:49, 20 February 2014 (MST)
