Talk:Face (3.5e Prestige Class)

From D&D Wiki

Recently, one of my players brought this class to my attention, and I thought of an amazing way to propagate favors using a high level Face. The key is the fact that a Face can talk to anyone who owes him a favor, on any plane. After getting a good number of people in different planes and on different towns in his debt, a Face can communicate freely between them, passing messages. Thus, even with just one Face (although it works even better with two or more), one can set up a transplanar communications network without the use of magic. Then, one could do someone the 'favor' of adding them to the communications network, thus making it self-propagating. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 129.21.20.137 (talkcontribs) 11:53, 14 April 2008 (MST). Right feel wrong look[edit]

A face captures and sets rules to a neat idea, however it does not allow anyone short of 10th level access to these abilities. This class needs to be accessed much earlier for the pay offs to be class/level worthy. I would drop the prereqs to Chr 15, Bluff 8, Diplomacy 8.

In addition I would lose the magical elements (such as a magical written contract) of the class replacing them with some less tangible but just perfect memory for favors. This class just needs a little polish to be something extra cool. Sadly this element has been overlooked in the over all game design, something the 3.0 people should have built around for the bard-ish class a fame, or honor, ect.

Good stab at getting there.
