Base Attack Bonus Alignment[edit]

Should the BAB in the table be left aligned (as in the Druid (Evaluational Base Class Layout)) or center aligned? --Green Dragon 22:34, 25 March 2007 (MDT)

Which way does WotC align the BAB in their new books? --Green Dragon 15:02, 27 March 2007 (MDT)
Left-aligned. —Sledged (talk) 21:48, 27 March 2007 (MDT)
Okay, thanks for telling me (I need to start buying books again...). Anyway, is everyone okay with the BAB being left-aligned in the new format? --Green Dragon 22:40, 27 March 2007 (MDT)
I think it looks better center-aligned, but I can see why you'd want the first column to line up, so I'm ambivalent. However, I think the left-aligned header looks ridiculous. --Cúthalion 13:16, 2 April 2007 (MDT)
I agree — the header should be center aligned. Does it look better now? --Green Dragon 13:31, 2 April 2007 (MDT)
I didn't answer this immediately, because I wanted to hear what others said. Honestly, I think it still looks goofy, although for a different reason -- the header is centered, but the cell contents are not. --Cúthalion 12:59, 12 April 2007 (MDT)

BAB header option[edit]

How about this for another alternative?

Table: The Druid

Hit Die: d8

Level BAB Saving Throws Special Spells per Day
Fort Ref Will 0 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th 9th
1st +0 +2 +0 +2 Animal companion, nature sense, wild empathy 3 1
2nd +1 +3 +0 +3 Woodland stride 4 2
3rd +2 +3 +1 +3 Trackless step 4 2 1
4th +3 +4 +1 +4 Resist nature's lure 5 3 2
5th +3 +4 +1 +4 Wild shape (1/day) 5 3 2 1

Rationale:

  1. It doesn't look as goofy.
  2. Anyone who doesn't know what BAB is probably won't know what to do with base attack bonus, either.
  3. It links to the BAB definition (which I edited, btw).

Opinions? --Cúthalion 12:59, 12 April 2007 (MDT)

On the subject of editing the the BAB definition, shouldn't it match what is given in WotC's glossary (possibly word-for-word)? —Sledged (talk) 15:14, 21 April 2007 (MDT)
See Talk:Base Attack Bonus (terminology). --Cúthalion 19:02, 21 April 2007 (MDT)
For comparison purposes:

Ooh, yeah, I see what you mean. I never looked at that before. I'm definitely in favor of your idea. *Heads over to implement on Base Assassin* Armond 14:36, 12 April 2007 (MDT)
I kinda like it better written out over the acronym. —Sledged (talk) 21:11, 12 April 2007 (MDT)
I like it written out as well... However, I am for the written out one to still link to BAB. --Green Dragon 21:24, 12 April 2007 (MDT)
Table: BAB Header Vote

+1 +1 +1

  2. Green Dragon
  3. Shadow Dragon
  4. Blue Dragon
If someone knows the code to make it appear in smaller text I'd like to see that... If we can get the whole phrase out in (about) the space the acronym uses that'd be awesome. Armond 02:39, 13 April 2007 (MDT)

I kinda meant something to make it a specific font size like on word, but small will do, I guess. And tbh I'm not so sure I like it. Armond 12:11, 13 April 2007 (MDT)
