Talk:Coat of Plates (5e Equipment)

It's unclear if this item is supposed to be a coat of plates (per title), or a jack of plates (per image).

A jack of plates weight 17 lbs and only covered the torso. It would be statistically identical to a chain shirt, perhaps with tweaked weight and cost.

A coat of plates is a precursor to full plate armor. It would be statistically identical to splint armor.
